Exciting as the prospect of pushing buttons and scratching records in simulation of pushing buttons and scratching records might be, Activision’s expansion into the realm of the DJ Hero has netted online demand “well below” expectations. Not even Daft Punk contributing their likenesses and 11 exclusive mixes could get the buzz up. But while online interest in the game might be low, online interest in hearing the 93 mashups is likely higher, or so we’re assuming with this post. We have five for you to hear, here: Weezer vs. Evidence, the Alchemist, Aceyalone, Rakka & 88; Jackson 5 vs. Third Eye Blind; Dizzee Rascal vs. Justice; Marvin Gaye vs. Gorillaz; and one of Daft Punk’s original contributions, “Around The World” vs. Young MC’s guess which song.

  1. they could probably make a ton more selling the soundtrack to this game …. the game itself doesn’t look like a ton of fun to play (and most people are a little burned out of the Guitar Hero/Rockband scene)

  2. I have to say, I LOVE rockband and guitar hero. Having just moved in with two friends, we find it an essential part of the student lifestyle. A quick set of 10 songs after days of studying for tests does wonders for stress! But this, this I am not excited about. I’ve heard some of the mashups and they are pretty cool. But I cant imagine playing the game. I gave the demo a test run in best buy the other day and just had no clue what I was doing. Its not the same “natural” motion as strumming a guitar. Kudos to them for trying to expand the market but I don’t see it going too far.

  3. Some horrible mixes in there it seems. Maybe I’m just used to the awesomeness that is http://www.thehoodinternet.com though…

  4. Woo… Copyright claims.

  5. haha, so funny this here.. I can’t imagine a hero like this man.. gimme my guitar & drums
PS: this songs on a DJ club are a lot exciting
