I'm almost 98% certain I heard Led Zeppelin rehearsing in NYC (56th & 111th) about 2 weeks ago. not a bad week for Dave. start it with a beatle and ending it with zeppelin.
didn't know the nazi's were english.... this isn't ancient rome, we know what it sounds like when german's speak english.
is that the buckethead dance crew?
there's also some clips on you tube of dave grohl playing with him on band on the run, back in the ussr, and i saw her standing there
nice pics. some of those hives shots are amazing.
FL - 5:15, I Can See For Miles, Slip Kid, I can't explain, you better you bet PJ - Pure And Easy, Baba, Kids are alright, pretty much anything FF - I'm Free (good call, matt), join together, the real me i seem to remember grohl saying that he wasn't a big who fan...
once again, chris. you are right.
Thanks for the sage old wisdom, Jason. This is something i've only been able to wrap my head around recently. I tend to overthink way too much of my playing, mostly out of a fear of repeating myself. I wanted to make everything I played a new fresh idea, but then i was running out of ideas. Then I realized that is the repetition that actually defines the great players and their "signature licks". If Bonham only did that lick he stole from ginger baker once, it wouldn't be his. you just gotta shut off the brain and turn on the ears. speaking of drum battles, where's the rest of this? http://youtube.com/watch?v=a7qG852y2To and have you seen this: http://www.dragcity.com/bands/jens.html
ryan always looks like rick moranis
someone should tell geffen that green is not a primary color.
i like that they are going back to sounding like a glorified garage band. that was the charm of the blue album. so thank you rich costey for referencing blue when you mixed this. i'm pretty sure this song is a fuck you song he wrote after the record company rejected the initial album. rivers just needed to feel pissed off an alienated again to write a true =w= song. there was a part of me that really wanted them to release the pat wilson sung track as the first single, but i think they've made a smart choice here.
still waiting for the Huey Lewis & the Nuge tour.
soundgarden is notably absent from this lineup. without them, there is no sub pop.
hey ry, where's that dvd of the halloween show at the hammerstein?
the think the overwhelming influence is elvis costello and wasn't do the panic a califorina b-side back in 02? i think it was also on their first negatives comp.
4 minutes without vocals. that's what i call a single. jimmy page would be proud of that. i can't wait to go to a show and see a lot of disappointed 15 year old girls.
