Uber Reportedly Partnering With Spotify

According to The New York Times, Uber is partnering up with Spotify. Soon, the taxi service will allow passengers to play music from their phones during their ride. The service will apparently work whether or not the Uber car has an AUX output, but it’s unclear at this point exactly how the two services will integrate with each other. It’s also unclear whether or not passengers will be able play any song from the streaming service, or if there will be a playlist specifically curated only for Uber rides. The partnership was announced via a conference call on Friday. Check out some screenshots via Techcrunch below that show what the new service will look like.

UPDATE: The service launches 11/21 in ten cities (New York, London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto, Mexico City, Nashville, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney) with a promotion that involves ride-alongs with artists like Diplo, Kevin Drew, Andrew W.K., and Matt And Kim.
