Hitmaking R&B auteur The-Dream shared a free EP called Royalty: The Prequel back in August, but he’s been pretty quiet since then. Yesterday, he broke that quiet, throwing a murmuring love song called “Fruition” up online. It’s got some sweet, Prince-esque guitar as well as a chiffon New Romantic feel that reminds me, more than anything else, of Spandau Ballet. If The-Dream is working on a slick ’80s new wave record, I am ready for that. There’s almost no info on the new song, but it could be from a forthcoming album called Crown Jewel. Listen to it below.
