Lil B and Frank Ocean are both musical cult heroes with vaguely cloudy aesthetics and attitudes that sure appear to be warmly positive, but beyond that, they have basically nothing in common. The Based God cranks out so many mixtapes that it’s practically impossible to stay on top of them, and Ocean has barely shared any new music since he gave us the staggering Channel Orange in 2012. But the two are apparently working in the studio together. As Pitchfork points out, Lil B recently posted a photo of himself and Ocean on Tumblr, writing, “RARE photo of LIL B x FRANK OCEAN IN THE STUDIO TOGETHER!! NEW MUSIC COMING SOON! Collect this!” If Lil B can somehow convince Ocean to throw a bunch of music out there, he will have accomplished his whole spreading-love mission.
