You know Aphex Twin is fully back when he’s bringing the alter-egos out of storage. Richard D. James ended a long silence last year when he released the excellent Syro, the first new Aphex Twin album in over a decade. He followed it up earlier this year with the Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt2 EP. And now he’s bringing back AFX, the alias he used to release music in the Analord series from 2003 to 2005. Next month, he’ll release the new EP Orphaned Deejay Selek (2006-2008), which will presumably collect unreleased tracks he made during some of the years when he wasn’t releasing anything. Check out the tracklist below.
01 “serge fenix Rendered 2″
02 “dmx acid test”
03 “oberheim blacet1b”
04 “bonus EMT beats”
05 “simple slamming b 2″
06 “midi pipe1c sds3time cube/klonedrm”
08 “r8m neotek beat”
Orphaned Deejay Selek (2006-2008) is out 8/21 on Warp.
