In recent years, ambient metal wraiths Sunn O))) have recorded collaborative albums with Scott Walker and Ulver. But it’s been six years since the band released Monoliths & Dimensions, their last just-themselves album, and that’s a long time to go without any blasts of churning, seasick heaviness. So it’s good to see the band return with their new LP Kannon, which consists entirely of three long, drawn-out drone pieces. We’ve posted “Kannon 2,” and now we get to hear the entire thing.
