Julianna Barwick’s music recalls landscapes; impossibly tall mountains, deep green forests, glaciers cracking and sinking below the ocean’s surface. Her last album — 2013’s Nepenthe — was a lush, atmospheric collection of subtle arrangements that sound massive when you listen to them all together. Seriously, give Barwick a new segment of Planet Earth or a Discovery Channel special to soundtrack or something, because she would do an incredible job. Barwick’s forthcoming album, Will, is due out in May, and we’ve already hear its debut single “Nebula,” which came accompanied by a gorgeous video.
