My friend Nick Sylvester, who produced Shamir’s Ratchet album and founded the Brooklyn indie Godmode, recently teamed up with Eddi Front frontwoman Ivana Carrescia to form a duo called Gioia and to release a self-titled EP full of chilly, intense electronic music. This morning, they’ve followed that EP up with “Burn Me Down,” a song heavier, more experimental, and more challenging than anything on that EP. It layers Carrescia’s rapturous vocals over a beat that sounds like a backing-up garbage truck attempting to become a sentient living being. Check it out below.
Gioia’s self-titled EP is out now on Godmode.
