A few months ago, Emily Reo released the bewitching and warm “Spell” b/w “Stronger Swimmer” 10″, and today she’s shared a video for the former track. Directed by Brian Vu, it takes the form of a mesmerizing series of hypnotic flashes, alternating between grainy VHS-style footage and beautifully-composed shots of Reo searching through the woods and collecting crystals, mirrors, roses, grapes. “We tried to create a visual representation of the many ways you can become trapped by your own mind, and how it can veil you, distance you, overwhelm you or just keep you from feeling anything at all.” Reo told NPR, who debuted the video.
