As of late, former Blink-182 member Tom DeLonge’s interests have mostly centered around aliens and conspiracy theories about aliens. He was named the UFO Researcher Of The Year back in February, and last week he announced the formation of an organization called To The Stars Academy Of Arts & Sciences, whose main goal right now seems to be a crowdfunding campaign to launch a spaceship. It’s already raised over $380,000.
“Hello, my name is Tom DeLonge from the Blink-182. I have brought together an elite team from CIA, DOD and the FMR Director of Advanced Programs at Lockheed Martin’s SkunkWorks,” DeLonge wrote in a Facebook post announcing the project. “We are aiming to build this ElectroMagnetic Vehicle to Travel instantaneously through Space, Air and Water by engineering the fabric of Space-Time.”
DeLonge is serving as the president and CEO of the space travel company, and had this to say in an additional statement:
The public interest in the outer edges of science and the understanding of phenomena has always been suffocated by mainstream ideology and bureaucratic constraint. We believe there are discoveries within our reach that will revolutionize the human experience, but they can only be accomplished through the unrestricted support of breakthrough research and innovation.
What if the Blink-182 guy actually ended up being the person who put us in contact with extraterrestrial life? Makes you think…
