New Brad Laner – “Find Out”

When Medicine set out in the ’90s as one of America’s finer shoegazer outfits, their take on the sound was more of the razorblade, sliced tweeter variety — which is why checking in with former member Brad Laner is gratifying: dude’s getting loopy ‘n’ trippy these days.

Granted, Brad’s been releasing records steadily under the Electric Company moniker, but his first Laner-branded LP’s of a different ilk, leaving the Kraut-y, IDM explorations aside for something entirely more psychedelic. “Find Out”s our fave, a sun-splattered psych-popper recalling Dungen on a “Familj” day, melting in and out of kaleidoscopic “ooh-la-la” harmonies, tinkling glocks, and vintage, tube-crackling guitars. Headphones recommended.

As bonus for those needing another shot from the Medicine man, take this remix of “Sure” by Lexaunculpt (aka Alex Graham), also from Brad’s forthcoming Neighbor Singing.
