Watch ASAP Rocky Perform In NYC Last Night

Though much praise has fallen on the lap of Harlem-bred rap upstart ASAP Rocky, last night’s show at Irving Plaza was his true coronation as the scene’s torchbearer; not only did he keep the stage clear so he could maximize his own performance (he has had trouble with this in the past) plenty of special guests rolled through to pay homage. I did not go to this, because I’m a dumb idiot, and posting the footage is good penance, no? It looked so fun, and RapRadar’s Elliot Wilson won’t stop tweeting about it, so between that and this I think I’ve paid my dues. Watch Versus and Co’s footage from last night, where Rocky plays a great chunk of his excellent debut mixtape LIVELOVEA$AP, and a recent live clip shot in Montreal below.

Live in NYC. Bun B drops in at about the four-minute mark, Schoolboy Q at about 8:18, and Flocka at around 9:10. Ugh.

Dummy Mag points to another, more-closely shot live clip of Rocky in Montreal.

LIVELOVEA$AP is out now and available for free download. Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, met his namesake at Hot 97 the other day, which is pretty awesome.
