PJ Harvey Will Record Ninth LP In Public Art Installation

PJ Harvey has been busy lately working on a number of projects — including debut poetry collection The Hollow Of The Hand — but hasn’t released a full-length since 2011’s Let England Shake. “If she’s been working on a new full-length since then,” our own Tom Breihan noted last month when reporting on the poetry book, “we don’t know about it.” Now we know. Starting two weeks from today, the album will be recorded in public at London’s Somerset House in a monthlong art installation called Recording In Progress. Museum goers can pay to watch Harvey and her band plus producers Flood and John Parish through a sheet of one-way glass. “I hope visitors will be able to experience the flow and energy of the recording process,” Harvey told The Independent. The exhibit runs 1/16 through 2/14, and you can purchase tickets here.
