Currently being paid to see The Voidz and Porches for WBRU. (Tune in and listen to me DJ every afternoon haha.) Couldn’t swing an interview, but hey I’m just happy to cover the show.
I know I’ve been absent lately and I know you all must be DYING to hear from me because you wait with baited breath for my life updates; been busy with vacation/work/world cup. Hope y’all are well.
Moved into the new place! Moving sucks. New place is nice. Off to Ireland starting Sunday - what should I do other than pay my respects to Kevin Shields?
So hard to just pick 10, even though they don’t have that many albums.
1. Y Control
2. Zero
3. Maps
4. Wedding Song
5. Date with the Night
6. Sacrilege
7. Heads Will Roll
8. Skeletons
9. Despair
10. Subway
The escalators at Providence Place are kinda unnerving to be honest. It's a four-floor mall and in certain places the escalators are stacked atop each other all the way up (i.e. if you fell from the top one you'd fall four floors) and there isn't really much of a barrier.
I see what she was going for but it's REALLY misguided and the whiteness drowns out the decent points about womanhood in America. Also her past makes me very skeptical towards her actual intentions.
So I just discovered "How Bizarre" by OMC and I have two questions:
1. What the HELL were y'all thinking in the 90's?
2. Are we sure this isn't just Sugar Ray masquerading as another band?
It's about wanting to be right, to win. This whole country is all about competition, whether it be sports or capitalism or politics. People don't want to admit they were wrong, so they stick to their guns.
