WTF is that 10th track? Unless it's a playful cover of Madvillain's "Rainbows", I don't want anything to do with that. Actually, ESPECIALLY if it's a Madvillain cover, I don't want anything to do with it.
Good read. I agree that the album is chock-full of goodies. Some work, others don't. Doesn't make this album any less special. It's an incredible time for rap music nonetheless.
And can we all agree that "Genocide" is fucking amazing? I mean, that Kendrick verse, c'mon!
1) Jamie xx - I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)
2) Mura Masa - Lovesick Fuck
3) Kanye West - Only One
4) Kendrick Lamar - Wesley's Theory
5) Father John Misty - Chateau Lobby #4
6) Sufjan Stevens - Fourth Of July
7) Shamir - On The Regular
8) Son Lux - Change Is Everything
9) Viet Cong - Silhouettes
10) Jessica Pratt - Back, Baby
Me too! I used to convince myself that Veckatimest was my favourite because it had "Two Weeks" on it, but after listening to Yellow House again, there's no contest.
The lyrics send shivers down my spine... it's like some freaky narrative:
"i live down the street from you've noticed me i've never seen you
wonder what the fuck i do
listen up you nosy bitch listen close"
"he slurs use at your discretion its been a pleasure stefan"
So noided for Jenny Death's full release!!
