The Chase Part II is my go to song. That three song stretch of Keep It Rollin', The Chase Part II and Lyrics to Go is so fucking smooth. I hate that rap albums like this aren't being made today. Quality product throughout.
In Ghost Colours made me a fan but I have definitely lost interest in these guys music since then. The last album had a few songs on it but this one is just one long ass song with the exception of Dark Corners & Mountain Tops. Maybe they need to work with Tim Goldsworthy again.
Album of the week here. 8.5 at Pitchfork. 8 of 10 at Spin. The machine is definitely working! I'm listening but I'm not hearing it. Sounds like Disney Pop with an edge. The chick's voice is annoying after a while.
First Spin. Now Stereogum. Wonder what Pitchfork will say about this album next week. Not sure what people want from MGMT. I dig the album a lot. Can't wait for my copy to come in the mail on Tuesday.
Jay on cruise control. Some of the production is cool but he'll get a pass because he's Jay. Anybody else releases this album and we'd call it what it is, BORING!
Only feeling two tracks. "Bound 2" and "Guilt Trip". Ye my n!gga but you can't put syrup on shit and convince me it's good. Hope he rebounds on the next LP.
I remember getting this at the virgin megastore it Disney World. So many great memories attached to this album. It was definitely my soundtrack during that week. This is probably my third favorite Radiohead album. Where I End and You Begin is a top five Radiohead song IMO.
These were good but the naive little sheep will gobble this up like it's something deep. PE, PRT, Brand Nubian, etc have done pro black much better than this. Kudos to Ye for using his position to try and say something at least.
LO L @ Vol. 3 being the best Jay-Z album. You guys just need to stick to indie/rock albums. This is easily one of Jay's more inconsistent LP's. Anybody rating this higher than RD loses all credibility.
