Looks like I'm gonna sell my 3 day passes and head down to FYF instead. Maybe I'll do a single day for Gorillaz. Unless they're the only good act that day.
Honestly, good on her for mining the shit out of this song. It's basically like she has a number one hit every year for the rest of her life. I'd be squeezing it for all it's worth too. After all, what says Christmas more than rampant capitalism?
As shitty as their pizza is, Mike Illitch (recently deceased owner of Little Caesar's, the Detroit Tigers, and the Red Wings) did a LOT for the city of Detroit and I, for one, am happy to have an arena named after his terrible pizza if it does him even a small bit of honor.
Yeah, I first saw it and thought "oh, nice, unity. we should be good to eachother." Then I thought about the lyric and that shot of earth seems to a illicit more of a "oh. fuck. we're fucking trapped here with each other."
I moved from Michigan to CA. California produce isn't anything special. They just produce more of it. In the middle of a desert where it doesn't even make sense.
According to P4k Fleet Foxes will be at that fest too which is even more exciting news (at least for me)! Pecknold debuted new material opening for Joanna Newsom last year and the last time he did that those songs turned into Helplessness Blues. Now they're playing live again, new album must be on the horizon!
RIGHT! Also, if you claim that Radiohead is your favorite band, how could you be considering Trump? How could you both be a fan of Radiohead and Trump when they're like the antithesis of each other? Either you've completely missed the message of several Radiohead songs or you got the message and somehow don't care that your "favorite band" has a wildly different world view from you.
If you'd played both of those albums for me without telling me who the artists were (hell EVEN IF I'd know the artists) I NEVER would have thought they'd be anywhere on the charts let alone #1 and #2. What a time to be alive!
I feel like those of us who were paying attention to the minor Sufjan works in between Illinois and Adz were less blindsided by it and maybe enjoyed it more. After listening to his BQE thingy and his cover of "You are the Blood" (which is fucking unreal) I was suspecting the whole electro-symphony thing from Adz and ended up loving it. That said, I still like Illinois and Carrie & Lowell better.
That Jerry Garcia/49ers one is actually pretty cool. If the Detroit one was Jack White or something motown that looked cool I might consider getting it. Instead it's Eminem.... Although I can't tell what it has to do with him. Just looks like a Lions shirt.
