If I was Pharrell, I would just show them that you could do this with any song that's similar and get my 7 million back and then sue the shit out of the Gaye family for harassment.
I like this album a lot BUT it's definitely not the best new music. I'm kind of surprised about all the love this albums receiving.. as in "the best summer album that was never a summer album" PS that's getting soooo old. Yes, it's fun but It's also very generic. Pitchfork gives it a 8.4! seriously?! It's a tad bit over hyped. Hey, just sharing my opinion. I do like it. I dunno maybe it will grow on me even more and i'll regret posting this.
I got that feeling I used to get when I was in my younger years, of that feeling of listening to a new album the first time. Manipulator is a total package and experience. Yes, CEG album LOSE is amazing as well (It's very very verrrrry good) but the Ty Segall is just an awesome Rock n Roll record and deserves the AOTW hands down. I can tell by my 1000 listens so far that this album was finely crafted and a ton of hard work went into making it. It has amazing production and every song on this could be a single. I'm completely satisfied and will listen to this thing a few 1000 more times. A very good year for Rock indeed.
Ha! Don't be so sure. These two have been in a lot of adds and She opens for some pretty well off bands.
