I will sit down by their grave for 12 months and 1 day. :'(
Stereogum <3 TSwift
I would agree and add that they're album-centric in every genre, as long as they think the artist pulls it off. Which, as you mentioned, may not always be the case.
Yeah, he wrote the Ween Best albums feature right here at Stereogum! http://stereogum.com/1199782/ween-albums-from-worst-to-best/top-stories/lead-story/
This is going to be a very antisocial Christmas for me.
I absolutely can't stop listening to Peaking Lights. I prefer 936 to Lucifer, but Lucifer has been my go-to record this year. Tramp received a 7.9 from Pitchfork: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/16233-tramp/ I also dig the Cat Power, and Hot Chip will always have a place in my heart.
Released on Valentine's Day! *swoon*
New old Grouper? Yes please. Wouldn't AIA: Dream Loss/Alien Observer technically be their last album(s)?
Every part of me is excited for the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album. Although, I'd be especially interested if they went all in with Nick's guitarwork. Love that stuff.
I bet it takes forever to write music reviews with pencil and paper though. I don't even see a scanner.
Welcome, Claire! I'm looking most forward to Shaking the Habitual. But since spending the afterlife in Hell with my fellow Stereogummers is inevitable, I guess that sounds good too.
If objective criticism didn't exist, music reviews would be relegated to the quality of you tube comments.
All this talk is getting them down. They're trying hard to fix through the pain.
Who's the man with the master plan?
Damn, I'll have to look into these guys.
I guess it depends on how one defines a crush. Physical, mental, emotional, auricular?. The best, I imagine, would encompass all of the above. But I can see someone voting because they're crushing hard in an individual category. For me, I think Fiona is pretty (I worry about her fluctuating weight), she seems intelligent, emotionally a mess, and her music is enjoyable in certain moods. She wouldn't be my overall pick, but I get it.
How could anyone possibly hold a straight face when suggesting a Paul McCartney and Nirvana collaboration? Paul McCartney and Foo Fighters, okay. I could see that. But Nirvana?
And every track from Bob Dylan's "Christmas in the Heart"
"Smart people buy the smart things really." Exactly why I will avoid your site.
Fingers crossed for a US tour to follow.
Oh my god, I just let out a massive (silent) shout of joy.
Pour me another drink And punch me in the face You can call me Nancy
That's a serious neck protrusion in the press photo. At work, browser/flash update firewalled, can't listen to song. How is it, guys? Is it more drawn out and down tempo like the old stuff? Guys?
Father John Misty, Peaking Lights, Taken By Trees, Deerhoof and Here We Go Magic don't seem to be getting much love in the lists I've seen. The Chromatics are getting a lot of love though, and I hadn't listened to them until now. Thank you for that.
I appreciate the inclusion of Lucifer, Peaking Lights never fail to comatize me.
Speaking of shit, I very nearly shit my pants reading this exchange. Reliable as always, DT. Always down with the brown. Mastur Splinturd, you now have a special place in my heart.

I totally feel you there. It's nice to hear some livelier instrumentation and take a break from the doom and gloom, but I fear that he has very little to say here. This feels more like a deep cut than a single, but keeping my fingers crossed.
Well this is refreshing. I was heavy into Eels for awhile but have dropped off recently, looking forward to some fresh feelings.
Thanks for everything, Corban. Your presence here will be missed.
If Stereogum ever lost its D, I don't know if I could keep coming back.
It's hard to fall asleep without listening to Ween and masturbating at least 3 hours before bed.
Do you know who you're fuckin with?
"Piss Up A Rope" and "Reggaejunkiejew" and "Nan" may be contend with Mister Richard Smoker if we're talking mean spirited Ween songs.
I hold The Pod, God Ween Satan, Pure Guava and the Mollusk with equal reverence. Following that would be Chocolate and Cheese, Quebec, and White Pepper. Finally, Shinola, 12 Golden Country Greats, La Cucaracha, Craters. All of them are close to my heart, but the early stuff holds the most potential for regular rotation.
However, we're all terrible at grammar.
Hey! We're ad diverse as the ween albums themselves.
