Wavves – “My Head Hurts”

Nathan Williams will put out his latest album as Wavves, V, this coming October, and though the roll-out has been sticky (to say the least), the songs we’ve heard so far are promising. “Way Too Much,” “Flamezesz,” and “Heavy Metal Detox” are all pop-tinged surf-guitar driven singles, and today, Williams has offered up a new one. Guest host Pete Wentz just premiered “My Head Hurts” on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show and hilariously added, “I think it gives this generation a punk pop anthem.” It’s an upbeat, pleading song about liking someone so much they make you feel physically ill. “My head hurts, and without you it’s worse/ Suffocating on my own/ You’re killing me, I hope you know.” May we all feel that way every once in a while. Listen to “My Head Hurts” at Apple Music.

V is out 10/2 on Ghost Ramp/Warner Bros.
