California X are a Western Massachusetts punk band who learned a whole lot about writing supercharged stoner-fuzz anthems from Dinosaur Jr. Last year, they released their self-titled debut, and early next year, they’ll follow it up with their sophomore effort “Nights In The Dark.” The title track and first single sounds slightly murkier and more expansive than anything on that first album, but it’s still very recognizably the work of the same band. If you like triumphantly blearly guitar jams, you should absolutely check it out. It’s below.
