Earlier this month, the War On Drugs played Coachella and proved that their music makes a lovely soundtrack for the sight of the sun setting over the desert mountains. And yesterday, they also proved that they sound great when you’re watching TV in the middle of the day. In recent months, Ellen has given a daytime-TV stage to indie rockers like Courtney Barnett and Sharon Van Etten. And yesterday, perhaps as a treat for the unempolyed stoners who must make up some portion of her audience, DeGeneres hosted the War On Drugs, who played their floating Lost In The Dream single “Red Eyes.” The way they use that saxophone onstage is just awesome. Watch the performance below, and check out a web-only version of “Under The Pressure” at Ellen’s website.
Lost In The Dream is out now on Secretly Canadian. You’re all going home with a copy!
