you not into butt stuff? #fingersinthebootyassbitch
I think M83 has been watching Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. Song is badass bananas.
You think the gals should feel so comfortable these days But sexy genders bring some troubles to the fray And trouble tears apart another golden heart So I want to be the reminder that she’s stronger than the bulk on other days And also a super sweet and kind of feminist song.
"Golden Gal" is certainly the silliest song.
I'm finding more and more "moments" it's like sifting a stream and realizing there are lots of fun gems flowing by at such a quick rate.
OK, yes, the secret to this one is to disconnect from their catalog and have fun. It's getting better with each listen, and I'm sure it'll sit low on my overall ranking, but this is still the band that does something new and strange and full of pleasure moment and pleasure moment. Oh, and I was thinking how this album is kind of like a big pixie stick.
This was a little rude of me. But the point still stands. Calling his SNL mess of a performance a TV highlight...as if you didn't see Kendrick at the Grammys or watch any of Fargo...or The Affair...or Mr. Robot, UnReal, Broad City, etc.
Isn't the same thinking as when people take the side of the rapist?
This song is most excellent.
You should listen to it, dingus.
I'm a huge fan that kind of agreed with the Pitchfork review, which was clearly written by a fellow fan. The over-affected vocals and non-stop pace are more funhouse than ever, and funhouses are fun, but they're also disorienting and shifting too often. I wanna wander into a floatation chamber amidst the craziness. Some cool moments on here, but I miss the mellowed aspects of past AC.
"But for the most part, Lady Gaga doesn’t know how to be great. At best, she knows how to be interesting." I feel like calling you a dick for these lines. Also, they would be perfect for describing TLOP.
Kanye West should make "art" that actually aligns with his self-declared values. If he's trying to be a Disney prophet of progress and creative spark, then stop rapping about your elephant-sized ego, your mistreatment of "bitches", and your struggles with abundant wealth (wealth that doesn't actually exist?). Agh, boo, hiss.
Holy God, Kendrick Lamar. Remind us what conscious rap sounds like; that was spellbinding! Seeing this excellence reminds me why I'm so down on Kanye now. Rap about something!
Only illegally download this, you guys; it'll be everywhere.
I'm not going to downvote because your point's real, but I am going to sincerely insist that that is f**ked up and sad.
I'm pretty repulsed by the way Kanye treats women in his music.
So many cringe-worthy lyrics for me. He's still clinging to this predatory genius persona. But there are some interesting musical moments on here, and that's undeniable.
Sure I'll be scoffed at, but am I the only one that finds that line to be super crass?
I don't get what this song is about.
Also Niki & the Dove!
I've been a devoted fan, and I feel like this is not very good :(
Loved all three albums so much, and I can't wait to hear some Adult Mountaintop in the coming years.
Down with angry Drake and up with sad/lovey Drake. Gimme those pop songs; not these wannabe "hard" raps, ugh.
I hate when straight men get all defensive about their butts as if being into that makes them somehow lesser. There is a power in vulnerability, and a demand of relaxation that comes with it...and Kanye could use more vulnerability and relaxation. (Also, I bet he's lying.)
It would be so badass if someone from the Clan busted a cap in this dude.
Why, why, why are we praising this behavior as anything but totally negative? As if it's admirable to misinterpret a meaningless thing and turn it into a "vicious" attack. This is what happens to teenagers in high school. KWest preaches about his positivity, but he's a child.
Kind of adore their debut album, but this sounds a little like new Justin Bieber. That's kind of strange to type.
Feel like Boys Don't Cry won't ever actually be a real thing to listen to. And Kanye and Rihanna are certainly going to be letdowns (why are people all about Rihanna as anything more than a few-hits-with-mostly-filler, I don't know). But...Grizzly Bear, Radiohead, James Blake, M83 etc. all sound quite nice. Mostly excited for the surprise releases we've no idea about...like...what if Dirty Projectors turned out something?
Hold the phone; where's "Cosplay" by Panda Bear "Marijuana makes my day."
Oh, this is rad! I saw Joanna in Nashville last, and he opened then. Incredible voice!
This sounds like a church hymn for the dance floor of a club that has smoke machines and stuff. I'd get into that; this is huge.
This does not sound like a song by someone who's ever gotten high. Unless the green he's on is money. This didn't work with Rihanna; why would it work with Bey?
Slightly beguiling because this is on the sillier spectrum of Animal Collective's various sounds, and I know we all want something more cinematic and serious (a la Fall Be Kind IMO). But it's also a lot of fun, and I'm super eager to hear all of Painting With. I don't think should sound too shocking after the funhouse affair of Centipede Hz. I hope some of these songs take us back to that childlike approach they really nailed with Sung Tongs.
DAMN, THEY HAVE SO MANY GOOD SONGS!
