Man, that's a fucked up dynamic, I mean it yielded one of my all-time favourite records that I re-listen to every few months, but still considering yourself a full "band" and being a member that essentially had their role cut. It's a wonder they didn't have a complete melt-down (at-least publicly, I'm sure they did melt down).
Pretty sure Nicki Randa is one of the vocalists as well as flylo himself, or at least people on reddit were speculating that and it sounds right to me, IDK.
Man, Lil Wayne needs a new album naming device, if he's trying to reinvent himself he really shouldn't just make this album seem like another one in the series.
I hate this guys voice so much. I heard "Eyes of the Muse" way too many times on the radio this summer and I just can't stand how obnoxious he sounds, could never get over it.

good performance, seemed slightly off time at parts and the singing a bit off, but awesome energy. The production on Letterman is horrible though, the song sounded so flat compared to how meaty and heavy the studio version is.
Maybe, I missed them to get close for Modest Mouse, whose earlier albums are my absolute favourite music recorded but I really can't get into their post "Good News" sound, oh well. I had to see them for old times sake.
that was the first song I heard by them! Agree 100000%. I had the opportunity to see them live at a festival this year and decided not to because I just don't care enough about them to actually bother.
"it should be the song which gets played so much it encapsulates the summer for the greatest majority of people"
I think the Stereogum song of the summer should reflect the music they report on and what their readership likes. The whole point of websites like Stereogum is to report on music that doesn't get the majority of publicity and news and all that shit, indie music..... why should we make our song of the summer a ubiquitous yet annoying-as-fuck song? Zero logic there my friend.
I've actually always wondered what a dude like Jack White thought of the whole sports fans mob singing "Seven Nation Army" and his response was pretty cool, didn't expect that.
Also reminds me of their self-titled comeback album which was not a good album, but I loved "Samba Nova" so much, I always really appreciated their tinges of bossa and loungey music influences.
I do enjoy them more than Pearl Jam, but I know I shouldn't :(. This has served as a reminder for me to give another listen to "Tiny Music....", which is a really great album that I completely forgot about.
I disagree, I think he just made a comment on the Bieber thing because he was asked and that was it, hardly a grudge. He said his opinion of it and thats really it, it's not like he's taken to twitter to keep firing shots. I think the interviewer and publication are to blame for drudging it up and I highly doubt it took up their whole interview, but the editorial decisions are made to drive traffic, so they emphasized it.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.
I do not want this to happen. I love soundcloud so much, it is possibly my favourite music streaming sight, it has allowed me to get a tiny following on my own page and discover countless super cool producers from all over. It's communities are so rich and the interface is really excellent, I would hate to see twitter blow it the fuck up with ads and all that, that would make me very sad, because right now it is one of the few ad-free media websites. Pro accounts and whatnot make sense, they help support soundcloud and even free users aren't at a real disadvantage by not paying. Soundcloud has so many things right, I wish they would be a company that sticks it out by itself and doesn't cave and sell to a massive social media company. :(
