This last year has been unlike any other in my life. I've gotten divorced, tried (unsuccessfully) to change careers, and as of next week my mother is selling the house I grew up in. It's been an emotional roller coaster, and you guys have been a real source of stability and continuity all those times when my heart was in my throat.
I'm so glad that back in October of 2010 I decided to start commenting here. I've made real life friends, and feel awfully attached to so many of you who I've never even met. Thanks for every funny comment, every smart comment, every gif, and every upvote*. Thanks to Kelly, Gabe, Lindsay, and every other contributor to this site for making it my favorite place to hang out on this enormous internet.** I’m gonna miss this a whole lot.

Before Gabe's recaps, I would regularly watch this show because it was on HBO on Sunday night and it came on after whatever else I had watched that night. What was I gonna do? Change the channel? Read a book? Get a good night's sleep? It was something I consumed strictly because of inertia.
After Gabe's recaps, this show became awesome.
I have my favorite tie on, so pretty good?
Also, as treacherous and icy as it is outside, this is way better than yesterday's oceans of slush. On the way to work yesterday I stepped in a puddle that was a good 6 inches deeper than I expected, so I spent most of the day sitting at my desk with one shoe on while I waited for my shoe and sock to finally dry.
And I'm currently pretending that this isn't the penultimate day of Videogum.
I'm just gonna say it - I enjoy the whole Clooney prank thing. These guys have money and time, and they basically get to play for a living. It sounds like they're all having a lot of fun!
