Deftones deserve better than whatever they've gotten. They wrote change for christsakes. To flourish in the industry turdpool they were swimming in, these boys must be made of cork. And nobody soaks a better cork than these boys
1 fuckin hundred percent back this also their smiths cover of please please is excellent imo

burt deserves only the best goddsmmit
Well Neil as we know the pornhub community is equally supportive and more open to submissions, apparently Lol
You mean it's able to be posted on this open forum even though it's incorrect? That is quite accommodating ;) I know Burt is very personal to everyone but what exactly is incorrect about this fantastically unsubjective list?!
My pleasure Blocie
Really enjoying this car seat headrest - beach boys, weezer, and casablancas comparisons? Caitlin knows how to sell a track and I AM BUYING.
I loved Tommy's review of Travis Scott, who I have generally disliked as a person based on others' reports of him being "a lame." From a production standpoint, Rodeo sounds is such an expensive-sounding, top shelf banger cornucopia. Relative to this year's other major bangerucopia, DS2, it's like a hunter boot to a walmart black rubber. That's a great comparison. He's not saying anything, but when has that mattered in 2015. "SCCCUURURRRRRRRR" - Young thug, u know? I like his voice too. It's gravelly, and shit, which is good. And the album cover is the best of the year - even better than Tame Impala's 70's genital freudianesque covers. But sure as a cohesive album it's a disappointment for sure. But the real reason I'm writing this inane post is because of Maria I'm drunk. I can't stop listening to this track, specifically Bieber. It's like if Amanda Please had emerged from her distress period with a banger track - it would have all made sense. Really hoping for more bieber rap output, and as I type that I hate myself. What have I become? https://pgiw.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/thunderbirds-brains.jpg
I love your fade out stance RJ. It's such a specific thing, and demonstrates your love. Also, do you happen to know the original source of that gif? I'm assuming it's some sort of really balanced religious ceremony. I would be interested (for a friend).

RJ - the other day I was listening to ABBA's one of us, due to Ezra's radio show (great jam). As you may know, this song features a fade out and I found myself very pleased with this "ending." Obviously, my mind wandered to you, vis a vis, a hatred of the fade. I think a fade out is at times the best ending for a song. It suggests that the song continues on, ad infinitum, a la "it's a small world," vis a vis never-ending songs. It's like, "hey, listener. hope you enjoyed the small window into this world. because we're just going to continue on, yea baby, fuck yea. And you're not a part of it. You can only see a bit, for a bit. Did you enjoy it, pretty boy? We're leaving, Charlie. Ha, yeah - we're better than you - you're not one of us, and you'll never be one of us. Why don't you just go back to where you came from, DON. NO ONE likes you and you're different, in a bad way. You're NOTHING, YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE HAPPINESS." You know?
Only now do I understand your love of this song. Here's to you, ardent prince.
Too many ghosts would have been a killer album/song title.
This is great. Imagine if new order put out something like this? Damn.
Skrillex always makes me think of the goonies. I don't know why.
This feels like a natural progression for his sound, and the album title makes me want to revisit some well known pleasures by pre-neon indian, vega: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4CFguITwf8
Bloc hotline bling crosses all traditional generation boundaries and is the song to unite us all in perfect harmony #olympics
The voice took me a second to adjust to, but I think it's actually a good look for this. This feels like a nice replacement for the giant leap off a garbage dump cliff that passion pit took with their last album. also grace I was expecting you to end the anecdote with affirmation of the power of youth lagoon to save your relationship but you kept it real - big ups.
Hope you boys are behaving yourselves. daddi would like to split his pick between classic man (obvs) and hotline bling. Buuuut, I'm kind of obsessed with hotline bling.
was just going to post this. sums it up, innit?
let's all just bump hotline bling and forget this whole mess is even happening because it's summer daddi
That's all I kept thinking throughout - seems the standards for lyrical quality have fallen into the shitter, and that includes both of drake's diss tracks, which are both okay but really no where near where they should be
This is a fucking train wreck. http://38.media.tumblr.com/a4e9fba036c39b76ce94bd1a7c18624a/tumblr_inline_mnhgy1tZIV1qz4rgp.jpg But gotta admit hearing that original track for know yourself is kind of disheartening, because that track is PURE FIRE and it's always nice to imagine the artist creating their own shit fairly independently. but this is like 3 meh tracks mashed into one potato head. what the fuck - he had days to write this.
Agreed the just blaze lord knows is a (meek) million times better than mill's, which sounds as generic as any other song on that album (other than jump out the face which is awesome solely due to future). The real question is, who would have killed that beat? because drake pretty much pee-dribbled his way over it, and then ross got stuck with the inferior switch up
HOTLINE BLING SONG OF THE SUMMER LET'S DO THIS
So we should champion real life grey goo creators like rich homie, fetty wap, and young thug and then say that hotline bling is "absolute trash." thats just irresponsible.

Add big D and we'll make it happen
lol I swear I'm not. but I think future could rhyme better.
It's definitely good/better than most of her output to date, but not billboard material (which i think is good). does song of the summer need to be top 20? i hadn't really thought about that. although, japandroids took the honours a few years ago, and that couldn't have been farther from top 40.
future should get a ghostwriter, or at least a little lyrics helper
ds2 > yeezus < 311 I think you've hit the nail on the head, rjc. lyrically though standards have dropped relative to wayne's run. future has put the atmospherics on steroids while putting down substandard lyrics, but it works because people can always fall back on the excuse that his voice is like an instrument, or some shit. it's like if lil B had put all his shit exclusively on clams beats - it would have raised the bar on many a forgettable track. The only lyric I know from ds2 after about 7 spins is from stick talk, and I made this picture to reflect it: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CKiOIaFUsAEfCRN.jpg (That's asshole, matthew hopkins). I don't really need incredible lyrics, although that would be nice, but just making sure that the lines all flow together and not ending 3 lines in a row with the same word would be nice. Also this pattern, is getting played out: "repeat a line, repeat a line, repeat a-repeat a line" *trap drums* *dirty synths* it's consistent but kind of boring after 10 tracks - I'm flagging at blow a bag, but satisfied. future is like the fast and the furious of music - it's decent quality and overwhelming quantity. i think you're right that future and thug are capitalizing on listening trends and drastically reduced attention spans (anyone that watched my spotify streaming would see the track change every 2 minutes). but I still wish a bit more time went into it. i guess it is what it is, and shit.
