so, i’d embarrassingly never heard of portrayal of guilt before tom’s post the other day. i listened to their new track and was blown away. then i watched the video spud posted from their audiotree session and i think i may have a new favorite band. time to update the rankings:

i feel like i'm at the point in my gummer career where i can guess the author of each article without looking at who wrote it. even without the radiohead fansite reference i knew this was a chris joint almost instantly. great read, and way to stick the landing there at the end, dude. gotta say, the writing on this site makes me so fucking happy sometimes (all the time) and it's getting better and better. it's also the reason this group of insufferable commenters isn't going anywhere soon.
anyway - this is my fave ylt album and i will love it 4eva
i saw them play tramps in nyc on that tour (i was 16). there were 30 people there for the foos and half of them were skinheads - they were actually pretty nice, aside from the whole hatred of others thing. at one point during mike watt's set, they lifted me up so i could crowd surf onto the stage and drop eddie my band's demo tape. i was successful, but then a bouncer threw me down a flight of stairs.
and that's how i became meat! (not really)
this is nice.
holowpaw was also a random band from the mid-aughts that i used to chill to quite a bit. quit +/or fight was a great lil album.
