Charli XCX – “2099” (Feat. Troye Sivan)

Charli XCX is releasing her new album, Charli, at the end of the week. She’s been loose with the singles from it, all of them highlighting the many collaborators that she’s brought into her world with this album. There’s been “Blame It On Your Love” (with Lizzo), “Gone” (with Christine And The Queens), “Cross You Out” (with Sky Ferreira), “Warm” (with HAIM), and “February 2017” (with Clairo and Yaeji).

Now, with just a few more days to go til it’s out in full, she’s shared the album’s closing track, “2099,” which pushes 100 years forward from last year’s “1999” and still features Troye Sivan. The pair debuted the track live a few months ago, and its proper recording sounds even better, a futuristic flex that looks forward instead of back: “Got visions, levels, they don’t get me/ Quiet, no discussions, please hush.”

Listen below.

Charli is out 9/13 via Atlantic. Pre-order it here.
