No one's going to see this, but I'll reply. I said "I think it sucks and here's why..." That's different that what you're saying. There's nothing wrong with thinking something sucks and saying so, especially if you provide reasoning. I don't agree with inthedeadofknight in regards to Big Thief even one little bit, but at least he's made it clear why he doesn't like them. Has he gone a little overboard? Sure. I'm just saying I'll take that over a passive agressive, "Well, I'm glad you like it" or "Let me just say, it's not my thing".
It's always a good time to be a Wilco fan! They'll love ya, baby!
I mean, he has played an Indian guy and a Chinese guy.
I have a theory that every band that's ever put out music has at least one person for whom that band is their favorite band. I still can't believe someone would pick Cafferty and BB as their favorite, though.
Not being sarcastic, I actually appreciate that you are open about hating Big Thief. Now, maybe you don't need to come into the comments of every article about them and remind us, but at least you state your feelings on them. One of my least favorite things I've noticed recently in discussing pop culture, art, whatever, is that people won't say they just don't like something. I'd rather someone tell me, "I think that sucks, and here's why..." than this "well, it's not my thing" bullshit. That, and "Well, I'm glad you like it". It's so condescending and passive agressive. You don't like it? Say you don't like it.
That handkerchief was probably what he wore before he got those fancy masks.
Same. I think it was when they announced it was a double album. I thought they wouldn't be able to maintain quality over that length. I was VERY wrong.
Goddamn, this album. If the rest of 2022 keeps up like February has, I'm going to have to quit my job and just listen to music full-time.
Mine's usually a few hours after, but I think we're talking different bowls here.
I'm sorry, Hivelslet, but you are not an example of the Live Mas mentality.
It's not technically a podcast. It's like a podcast crossed with a call-in show, I guess? I listened for the first time yesterday. Honest criticism: it was kind of rough. The material and the knowledge is there, but the delivery needs a lot of work. They're new at it, so that's fine. I'll keep listening. I'm sure they'll get more comfortable with the format.
It's sad that Snacks is gone, but so cool that he got famous enough to get an obit piece here.
That you, Mario?
Take it easy with the hot takes, man.
No, no, no. I like ambient electronic music. I just meant it’s code for Pattinson peeing in the suit.
I was wondering earlier if there’s ever been a single release day that saw three albums get Best New Music over on the Pitchfork? AnCo, Cate LeBon and BC, NR all got it and they all came out last Friday.
