So even if it's "just" the one allegation, the fact that they haven't denied it as their career crumbles apart would imply guilt. And if they are admitting to their (Ben Hopkins, still not sure if my pronoun usage is right here) being a fucking rapist, I would think that's definitely enough to totally tank their career.
What we know is that PWR BTTM have refused to deny the allegations so far which at this point makes them look very very shitty.
Ryan Adams tries pretty hard to "rock out" or whatever at his shows, it just doesn't hasn't really hit with the crowds I've seen him play to.
To clarify, the Ryan Adams shows I've seen have been fairly boring and the crowd has skewed more towards soccer moms in their mid 30's and the guys who try to date them with half the crowd sitting in their seats during the actual show. The Strokes on the other hand can still whip a crowd into a frenzy
Ryan Adams albums today are alright, but I doubt they're jealous of him. I've seen the Strokes and Ryan Adams each a couple times live in the last few years and can tell you if there's reason for one to be jealous of the other it's definitely not the Strokes envying Adams...
I don't think he's fallen from grace, and actually more or less agree with their score for this album. I'll be interested to see if everyone saying this is his best is still saying the same thing in six months. I like the album quite a bit still, but after a few listens don't see it having the same replay value that 2 and Salad Days (easily two of my most listened to albums of the decade) have. I could be wrong, but I think those two are a slight step above this in quality.
I wasn't sure either but I saw them at Red Rocks last summer and decided I'm completely on board with LCD 2.0. I don't care if they release nothing but Jimmy Buffet covers for the rest of their career, the fact that they're still playing shows means that them still existing is an automatic positive.
I've never understood this line of thinking. If your spouse is cheating on you the last person you should be upset with is the person they're cheating with. Hate your wife for being unfaithful or yourself for marrying someone who doesn't respect you enough not to cheat, but don't hate R. Kelly. R. Kelly didn't marry you, R. Kelly doesn't owe you anything. Why shouldn't R. Kelly bang your wife?
I get why he didn't, but if Kung Fu Kenny had gone with "Love" as the lead off single it'd be sitting at #1 right now, right?
Yeah, it would have been cool but it honestly would have made no sense for Coachella to book her. Their audience would have zero interest in her, and her audience would probably rather see her literally anywhere else.
If singers are exposing what lines in their songs mean now I wanna hear Brandon Flowers explain "I got soul but I'm not a soldier". I bet it has something to do with sexualizing Taylor Swift
Glad to see Chum at number 1, that's the song that convinced me Earl really is maybe the best pure rapper alive
Yeah I'm still convinced that great 40 minute record hidden within Gold you're talking about rivals Heartbreaker as his best work
Yeah Beyonce's performance was a spectacle and all, but Chance should definitely be #1 on here. As a performer he kicked the shit out of everyone else last night
He's fucking 25 years old, hardly a dumb kid. More like a pathetic ignorant man...
Bunch of fucking idiots. And yeah, fuck Migos. This is definitely more hateful than what the slayer idiot said, and this article kinda feels like it's giving them a pass cause it's a "hip hop culture" thing. Fuck that.
See instead of releasing every song weeks before the album comes out he should just be doing these stripped down minimal performances of them and release those. That way it's a preview of the songs we'll be getting without completely spoiling how the album's gonna sound one song at a time. Really like this one btw, so far "Two Wildly Different Perspectives" has been the only real miss for me
Actually after a couple more listens I'm really liking "My Old Man"
Not gonna lie, these might be my two least favorite songs from him since rock n roll nightclub. Still excited to hear the rest of the album though
Yeah I second this
After all the stupidity that has plagued our country this year, it's easy to forget that most of the rest of the world is Ann incredibly stupid place too.
Thought of this after reading the headline. Hope he takes some time away to get right and comes back better than ever. https://vimeo.com/170384914
I miss the old Kanye. Plays all his shows Kanye. I gotta say, at that time I'd like to see Kanye...
Gotta say I feel the exact same way, no matter how much I like his music it's just not possible for me to like Kanye anymore. He is literally Donald Trump. His life is nothing but telling everyone he's the best, taking as much of everyone's money as he can while providing them with an increasingly shitty product, and blaming others for all his problems. 'Ye needs to disappear from the spotlight for awhile and get his shit together, because at this rate he's maybe two years from being irrelevant, and I imagine the downward spiral will only get worse if Kanye loses his fame.
I bought two tickets to see him at the end of the month on my girlfriends birthday, they set me back $330. That's not re-sale, that's what tickets to his show cost. What I'm saying is, fuck Jay Z's killers. If he fucks his audience over at my show by taking obscene amounts of our money to play three songs and go on a rant to further prove that he isn't in possession of a functioning human brain anymore I'm sending my killers after him.
What exactly makes a nobel prize important again? Is it just because we all know what it is?
Not only is this looking like it's gonna be a surprisingly solid album, it's upcoming tour is also providing me the chance to see a motherfucking Stroke playing at the same venue all my low life service industry co workers and friends bands play at. Fairly excited about that.
How about we stop leading off all these top five songs/videos of the week articles with depressing musings on how bad the world is. I think we mostly all agree the world is a pretty awful place right now, but dwelling on it constantly is starting to verge on whiny and redundant.
Vacation was on constant rotation for me when it came out. Anyone looking to check out BtMI but having a hard time getting into their stuff should start there. Catchiest "pop punk" album of the last ten years
Of my friends that were actually listening to Views more than a week after it's release (all female btw if that's relevant) I've yet to have one that can actually explain to me why they like anything about the album musically. I always prod and try get answers because I legitimately want to understand what people enjoy about this album as I think it's boring as fuck, and always just end of getting an explanation of why they like Drake the person and have come to the realization that the songs on this album have absolutely nothing to do with its popularity.
Even something more in line with At War With the Mystics would be welcome to me. The last couple have been missing that element of fun that's what draws me to a Lips album in the first place
"Tournament representatives and Timberlake decided not to press charges" Is there no justice in this world? This guy touched someone's face and they're just gonna let him walk free?
Honestly anyone who doesn't acknowledge how awful a human being Michael Jackson ended up being with all the evidence and testimonies provided is a piece of shit. Like... We've all got on the train of hating Cosby for being a fucking rapist piece of shit, and we have just as much reason to believe that Michael was the same thing, BUT WITH FUCKING CHILDREN and it's like we ignore that cause we like him too much. Seriously though, the guy's music was gold, and as a human he was an awful terrible no good rotten piece of shit and it sickens me that people try to ignore that and brush it out.
Shut up, man. Son of Schmilco is a classic.
Of course she played the victim, Taylor Swift has become one of the richest most influential women in the world by playing the victim. But for real though, can Stereogum please stop posting this story? I feel like this is at least the third time Kim saying this has been an article and the fact that you guys keep reporting it is just getting sad. I get that clickbait and big names are a priority because it's where the money is, but at least try a little harder and find some new things to talk about.
"they sounded great!" Is that a serious opinion?
As someone who hasn't played the game, but has seen basically everyone else he knows play it, I've gotta say... it seems like the stupidest shit ever. I've been trying but just can't grasp what enjoyment anyone could be getting from it, even calling it a game seems inaccurate. Seems more like a tedious activity.
I don't particularly hate the video, but the song is mediocre as fuck.
