he is the most empathetic and sane character in Batman stories. That's just facts.
My buddy went away to Seattle that summer and came back for the school year of 89 with a copy of Bleach, assuring me I'd love it and I did. I am eternally grateful to him. He ensured my mixtapes had Nirvana songs on them well before most of my schoolmates.
So glad I lived this. Saw them multiple times live, bought the records, DVDs and singles. We had it good.
Nile produced David Bowie who was in Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces with Kiefer Sutherland who was in Flatliners with Kevin Bacon. Boom.
Life is craaay zay.... Can dee bay baaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Love it!
At least Grohl & co had the good sense of making a bunch of dumb covers only available to a few on RSD as opposed to Weezer and countless other bands that do lazy covers records and pass them off as new albums! There have been much worse crimes in music.

Justice for REM. No number ones? Insane. 1. So. Central Rain 2. Radio Free Europe 3. Fall on Me 4. One I Love 5. Nightswimming Tons more...
My brain said it was a #1 hit. The song and video were unavoidable. MTV had it playing every 10 minutes, it was all over the radio... I barely remembered this one! Weird how that works!
Music is subjective and all, but damn, Patience over Losing My Religion? Oof!
I am all for a young band stretching out. We don't have enough of those. The strength of the EP songs (all of which are on the album) indicates this album will have some mellow stuff on it, but also some really great tracks that you'd typically expect from Turnstile. All will be well.
I'm the opposite. Everything sucks!
There's something there. I am not a pop fan at all, but I have this weird inherent respect for Jody Watley.
I don't think many go around saying how magnificent they are. I'm a fan and for the most part, I just know they make me happy when I need it. That being said, if this site can champion Paula Abdul & Bon Jovi singles, I can say Everlong is amazing.
I hate to be THAT guy, but it's Pictures of You! Not Pieces. But I can see them singing out pieces of someone on the flooooooorrrr...
It blows my mind that the music landscape was so wide that Bon Jovi existed when this album dropped in May 1989. I was so proud of them. I was RIGHT! The Cure ARE genius! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNZxs0TWz8s
The fact that they sounded amazing, weren't over-produced and looked unmanufactured made them feel genuine and a breathe of fresh air from the otherworldly-ness of what was big at that time. To a young American, the Roses, Charlatans, Inspiral Carpets and Happy Mondays were godsent. Slowdive, MBV and Ride would soon follow. Such a great time to be an impressionable kid with a love for UK indie bands.
My brain hurts seeing the Cure and the Ramones coexisting on a mixtape with Great White. These things simply. didn't. happen. at my high school.
The world would soon be better when those bands came in and wrecked shop.
It was pathetic, and I believe that is the point they're trying to make, but... we are all aware.
If you put the name in big type, it makes them headliners you see...
I discovered more music from 120 Minutes than I care to admit. I liked to hear him say FAHNTEEMA MANSHUNS!
Yeah, this is why I never listened to the radio after a certain point. Songs like this existed and not on the radio. So much good stuff in the 80s. You captured most of my big ones, with the exception of Siouxsie and Prince.
Foo Fighters ain't apologizing for anything :D
I always thought of the other Bangles as Hoffs' backing band since all the hits were her singing leads and she was front and center in all the videos. Maybe the other Bangles were onto to something :D
Ooof! I clearly stand among the minority that really didn't;'t dig that song or much of what was on the radio at that time.
Let's not forget he also the master of television's Street Hawk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c_-KvMTOOc Theme song slaps...
Old man here, just sayin' I wish the kids were doing more of this.
I feel you. Too many people not vaxxed, too many variants and we're spiking the ball. That said, Everyone in here was vaxxed (hopefully) and I am happy some got to celebrate being normal in a responsible way.
Amazingly good point. The fact that he is appreciative and seems to be an all-around good guy makes his victory feel pretty good. Glad they had this show and it was the Foos that got to kick this all off. I'm here for vaxxed shows.
I enjoyed this. It's wild how different schools were, depending on where you live. My school near LA had musical warfare. You were either firmly in the camp of goths/punks/weirdos, hair metal, or top 40 which the popular kids liked. The metal kids and weirdos had uneasy truce, based on the fact that we were actually passionate about our music. It's always strikes me as weird that kids don't define themselves by their musical taste anymore.
I hated on every single one of these songs with the exception of INXS' Need You Tonight. That's what you do when you're into DM, The Cure, Siouxsie, New Order, The Smiths... not to mention punk. As I have aged, I have come to appreciate a wider spectrum of music, but these number ones were a HUGE part of the reason I found what would be later called "classic alternative"
"Really, just about everything about “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” is awesome." Not really.
Oof... never heard this, don't remember it. It sucks!
Turnstile is great. I keep shouting to clouds, "see, you kids need to do more like this!!!"
Being able to have a work conversion with her about our love of Siouxsie and Debbie Harry is one of the highlights of my career.
Although you have more than an albums worth if you add up all the past 10 years worth of singles, a Cold Cave record is sorely needed. Looking forward to this so much.
Fuuuuck Kokomo, Don't Worry Be Happy and Cocktail. Yuck.
