Maybe. In reality, he almost certainly won't make a meaningful impact one way or another. Maybe get a few protest votes from libertarians or Republicans who don't like Trump but lack the fortitude to vote for Biden.
Dude, you can cherry pick statistics all you want. Bernie is losing states he won 4 years ago by double digits. He's behind by over 200 delegates with about half of the country already having voted. He's behind be 20+ points in National polls. IT IS OVER.
Thiscity. Bernie has lost. He's been singing the same song for 4 years, people know what's he's about. He shouldn't demand people risk their health so he can stand at the pulpit a little longer.
Doubt they'll cancel the elections but if Bernie gets shellacked again (as the polls suggest he will) its time for him to drop out. To continue on with this virus threatening people when you have essentially no chance of winning is incredibly irresponsible.
I mean, after the layoffs it seems pretty clear that they can't afford to refund the tickets. A lot of that money has likely already been spent on a festival that isn't gonna happen. They should release a statement saying "If you really want a refund, okay, but then 2019 was the last SxSw you're ever gonna get."
It amazes me that Bernie supporters (a group of mostly pretty well educated, intelligent people) never fail to find a way to blame his failures on everything but the most obvious answer: most Americans don't want him to be president.
Dansolo, that's a pretty reductive way to talk about it. Is Warren the White Lady version of Bernie? Hardly. I don't understand why it's so hard for Bernie supporters to grasp the fact that there's a lot of different people in America across the political spectrum that don't share Bernie's worldview.
Rubberbandit, Not saying you're wrong, but a music media website on the internet is not a good place to try and tell Bernie Sanders is a bad presidential candidate.
Cleese is one of those obnoxious, arrogant a-holes that thinks he's above it all so he can say whatever he wants. He thinks as long as he doesn't "intend" something to seem racist, no one is allowed to recognize it as such. History and context be damned.
Future Islands backed out... they're management et al threatened them to go back... the Festival dropped R. Kelly... FI did the show even though they didn't want to.
People have been waiting for Theon to die since season 3.
Also, we're all in agreement that Old Town Road is dog shit, right? I'm a little late to the party with this song, what's the vibe. I'm gonna be annoyed if I have to pretend that I liked The way that GoT episode went down AND that song.
The more I think about it, the more the episode disappoints me.
- For the "Biggest battle ever committed to screen" it was shockingly lacking in any signature moments. Nothing you saw and were like "damn, that was awesome!". It was this fight in the dark with a bunch of quick cuts, you couldn't even tell who you were looking at half the time.
- They copped out HARD on any significant character deaths. And don't come at me talking about Lyanna Mormont is some Major contributor to the story. Show tries to rewrite history and pretend like she wasn't a completely one note character with 10 minutes of screen time up until this point... as badass as she was for those 10 minutes. All they gave us was Jorah, and even that was undercut by the fact that they kept cutting away from his Boromir moment so Jon could hide from a Dragon and Arya could do her little sneak attack.
- The fact that no big characters got aced takes away a bit from the great send offs we got for some last week. It's like a friend gives this long beautiful goodbye at a party, then instead of leaving fucking Brienne of Tarth is just hanging out by the pretzels bowl for the next 3 hours.
- Seriously, there was hardly even the THREAT of an important character dying. No one ever truly felt in danger, aside from Drogon. Really seemed like he was going down.
- Actually, the one moment I thought we were gonna lose an important character was the end. I was like "Oh shit, Arya is gonna die" just cause I was so sure they wouldn't kill off the Night King with 3 episodes still to go. I thought they'd do a thing where the Night King captures Bran (tries to get Bran to like Cerebro destroy everyone on earth like Prof. X in X2) and after he gets Bran the whole army of the dead just stops fighting and leaves. I know, Cersei is the big bad of the show now but, Idk the whole King's Landing stuff feels flaccid to me at this point.
-And to your point, I like Arya and that was a cool kill. But the Night King 100% should've been Jon's boss fight. They'd been teasing that showdown for like 4 seasons. Looking back on it, Jon and Dany hardly did shit all battle after their initial Dragon assists. If I was Kit Harrington I'd have been a little mad reading that script.
Oh yeah, spoilers, or whatever.
The cover picture looks like she's farting into the microphone... which if that's part of her shit talking game, she really has ruthlessly taken it to the next level.
I've seen Leaving Neverland, I believed every minute of it and I probably won't be listening to MJ's music for a while. That said, I doubt I'll never tap my foot to it again. These stations aren't going to be yanking his music forever. It's a lot easier to separate the sins of the creator from the creation when they're no longer actively doing horrible things. You don't have to eliminate MJ's music for all eternity, but a little reflection on the pain he caused is warranted.
Can we have a little perspective here? Fred Rogers dedicated his life to the bettering the lives of children all across the English speaking world, who really gives a rats ass if he voted for Nixon? what great things have you done to help society, Win?
I hear that, a good place to start would be giving Bridgers music that she recorded at PaxAM to her. His behavior has been reprehensible and going on what he's shown of his personality in public I'd say little of any of what he's been accused of was calculated so I can pretty easily imagine a world where he's been legit blindsided by it all. He's definitely a fairly manic person and self harm did cross my mind as well. Safe to say that's a conclusion to this whole ordeal that no one would want.
