Sometimes I think I hate it, then I hear it again and I melt. That's the power of '80s rock.
The Bangles are one of the best bands of all time, hands down, and "Walk Like an Egyptian" is a classic. Did a very good cover of this with my trusty box drum at a Battle of the Acts once. My lips were too dry to do the whistling bit but I sure as hell tried.
A lot of famous musicians have said similar things. I believe the Edge and Ice-T have said similar things.
Not nearly long enough but so so worth it
Normally I try to at least be somewhat insightful with my comments. Not here. Fuck this stupid song. 2/10 and that's generous.
Welcome, my contemporary! We are few and far between around these parts. We gotta stick together.
I knew nothing about the Olivia Rodrigo backstory until my sisters explained it to me. Regardless of that, I quite like it and I’m happy for her success.
I fucking love Gams of Love, don’t care what anyone thinks
(Hanson have become a very good band btw)
I think he said he was just doing it to do it and doesn’t actually have beef w any of them. Heck, I think he wrote a song for Hanson years later!
Has to expend the energy he apparently doesn’t on his wife
Someone hasn’t heard “Someday We’ll Know”
The story behind why the Bidens love this song is heartwarming as heck and I am delighted we’re at least briefly seeing this wonderful band back together
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
"WHOOOOOAAAAA...this SAUCE is on FIIRRREEE..."
I actually got these last week and had them on vegan fried chicken. Quite lovely, and I do love me some good hot sauces (the Killers, I still haven't heard enough to call myself a fan, but they do good covers and "Mr. Brightside" is always a classic). Blowback's my favorite, and it lives up to its name!
They've been a family tradition with mine so I look forward to resuming it.
What does that have to do with anything? Dumb comments transcend gender.
I’ve finally gotten out of my unhealthy relationship with Morrissey, you don’t have to do this to yourselves
I don’t know why I ever read articles about her. I don’t like her music, I don’t like her as a person, and every new sentence of vapid privileged “I’m a white girl who’s never had to think about any of this before June of last year and I have no clue how to talk about it but I’ll pretend I’m an expert” bullshit made my blood pressure go up.
Someday I’ll get why she’s still a thing. If she’s still your thing, god bless.
I'll check all those out! Do love a good panel show. Thank you! I'm starting to get there (and I'm also on meds - anti-depressant and ADHD - they mostly do their job but a tough week is a tough week).
Ok wait I meant SUDCS. My bad.
Hey TNOCS! Long time no see. Hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been having a decent winter break but seasonal depression stinks so if you’ve anything to cheer me up I’d appreciate it.
Never liked his music, always struck me as a putz. Vindication!
At least you know early enough to drag Taylor Dayne and Vanilla Ice when their times come. (Also Mike Love, but he's already shown up.)
"...I think holding the opinion that playing for a super-spreader event run by a bad person IS LOUSY" is how I meant to finish that thought.
Call me crazy, but I think holding the opinion that playing for a super-spreader event run by a bad person isn't necessarily political so much as it is common sense.
I posted a thing about clowning Terri Nunn and Taylor Dayne for playing Mar a Lago but it got lost in the shuffle. At least the songs still good.
None of this mentions that Terri Nunn performed with a bunch of session musicians calling themselves Berlin at Trump’s Mar a Lago New Years party last week. Been clowning her and Taylor Dayne for it on Twitter. It’s a riot. This song is still good though.
10/10, one of my favorite songs (and videos) ever
These lyrics are by the same guy who wrote Into the Mystic
