I agree that Reflektor shouldn’t be grouped in with Everything Now, but I disagree that it should by grouped with funeral-the suburbs. First three were great, reflektor was alright.
That line was reportedly written by Jay.
That Gourds cover had to be one of the most incorrectly credited songs in the Kazaa/LimeWire catalog. "Gin and Juice" by Blues Traveler "Gin ad Juice" by Dave Mathews Band "Gin and Juice" by Hootie and The Blowfish on and on.
I hope this contributes to a movement that gets more T. Rex on Spotify because their lacking so many great recordings.
What's that now you're challenging how many Korn albums I purchased (primarily from Columbia House club orders)? Well you got me there slick......NOT! Self Titled Life Is Peachy Follow The Leader Issues Untouchables TRY THAT ON FOR SIZE BUB!
Jokes on you, between my brother and me, we owned SMASH, Americana, Conspiracy of One, and Splinter! Ha! Who looks foolish now?!?!
The best guess I have are a) comparing his unexpected return to RHCP to the unexpected impact of the virus b) Frusciante is very good at guitar, the virus is very good at infecting and killing people? Neither of those are very good takes though so I am equally lost.
How does autocorrect not step in there. Side note: autocorrect managed to change how does to “bow dies” in this very comment.
Honestly, without seeing the photo it seems Let’s Fsnce does not thoroughly capture that energy.
I'm just glad Brandy and Monica finally buried the hatchet.
Funny timing me and my friends just listened through his entire discography and ranking them. This ranked third out of the “volumes” for me, but he still had his flow.
This seems like a waste of money. This seems different from the sonic move in a lot ways, but probably most chiefly is that sonic had a clear market with a clear request: this is a nostalgia grab so just make him look exactly like we remember him. So they did. I feel like in no way can this increase the amount of people that see it, if anything they should have just kept marketing it as is and get that “let’s see an awesomely bad movie” money.
I could be wrong but I thought I remembered an interview with Kevin spacey about delovely where he was talking about his choice to sing the music in the film and he brought up that Jamie chose not to even though he was very capable.
Didn’t Jamie foxx not sing in the Ray even though he can do an uncanny ray singing voice?
Also, just feels like dude's an easy target more than anything.
I know I have already unnecessarily argued this point on a pretty insignificant instance, but again I think if your PR people say hey about we don't help MTV make money when they are hurting our ability to make money is not much of an attack on free speech. MTV made their money-making decisions, they chose their priorities and should be held solely accountable. Do you have a responsibility to perform for all of those ant-cokeparty forums that constantly drag your name through the mud, while earning billions of dollars annually? Of course not. I feel like it does attacks on free speech a disservice to basically equate this to some big act legally bullying a small honest publication for bad press.
It is not about Juice WRLD not having enough money. It is about the culture that has been created. Also, at least from where I am coming from, it is not about saying Juice Wrld made no mistakes, it is about taking the time to acknowledge why this is not a unique situation to Higgins. There is a culture that makes these types of situations more likely to occur.
Congrats on making it to 41. Wasn't coming for you just explaining that mentioning the role the war on drugs/crime/poverty, etc. plays in the common occurrence of this type of situation is not the same thing as saying Juice WRLD should be able to have a unregistered, fully-functional tank. Also, I am sure you'll be able to find other instances of rappers getting in legal trouble for possessing guns while traveling, if that will help you teach your kid that lesson, right? It seems like you don't really disagree about any of this (though i could be misunderstanding), but it is also important to remember the "failures" of these "wars" are at least as intentional as they are the result of incompetence, just like there were intentions behind jim crow laws and all forms of institutionalized racism and classism.
Right, and obviously that doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.
The approach to addressing drugs and crime in general, especially by means of profiling, breeds this type of scenario and dynamic. The criticism is not about whether cops should be involved when someone possess metal-piercing bullets. The reasons behind the drug usage and gun possession in situations like these are largely due to the government and the dynamic established by lawmakers and enforcers. Higgins is not immune to free will or being held accountable for his own choices, but there are reasons this is far from a unique situation and it is not because “hip-hop has done more damage than racism.”
You guys ever wonder if we are possibly going about this war on the drugs the wrong way?
Unless she specifically asked him to do this, this does not seem like the right move.
Mass eduction is great, are people acting like it wasn’t good now? Mess education was cool and if you don’t end up caring about these remixes then why is rubbing everyone the wrong way that she made an album she enjoyed enough to have fun messing around with it for a couple years. I don’t think this is distracting her from new music plus it’s only been around two years since her last album it’s not like she’s super due for another yet.
a word or phrase open to two interpretations, one of which is usually risqué or indecent. Looks like one neither interpretation must necessarily be risqué so point Sir Wilson Comeybeare and Moby. Buttttttttt he could be implying that he also fucks animals if that’s what you want to hear.
I’ve checked them all out before. They come close, but I just think it hasn’t fully been tapped into to the best of its potential yet.
I’ve used this one on a mix. A contender for sure.
Drive is such a beautifully written song, but I still think it's waiting for the perfect cover.
I've got so much use out of this dude's songs let alone what he's produced.
What song was it? So many people have covered The Cars, was this one just because it was another car-themed band?
You can put mms and or chocolate chips(this makes more sense to me) in your banana bread and I will eat it and enjoy it. That said if you do put mms in your banana bread you cannot also claim to make pretty sick banana bread. You wouldn’t want mms in it if it were an amazing banana bread. Side note: I prefer banana bread without nuts so that might be considered counter culture as well. Side side note: honestly of you’re putting chocolate in it chocolate chips or chunks seem like objectively better choices. Why mms?
And addition how much of a travesty is it that LDR is the only female representative in that list you gave. So much fucking female excellence so under celebrated that it would be laughable if it weren’t such a fucking shame.
Scores are silly, but I’m just on a different page then everyone else. I listened to the album in good nature not in a “how can I hate and pick this apart” way. I thought it would be a fun record and it was a fun record. No we don’t have to think of every album in context of every other album but if we are going to rank and compare I don’t understand how it belongs in the company of those albums whatsoever. It seems clearly and objectively (as objective as music criticism can be) not as good as those albums. It wouldn’t even cross my mind that fans would even begin to see it as a masterpiece or one of the great albums of the decade. And to reemphasize I didn’t hate the album, this reaction just feels very random and arbitrary to me.
I’m flabbergasted that LDR got over a 9 on pitchfork. The album was fun but it’s just okay the songwriting ring alone should cap it at a 7.5
You know, you might be trying to demonstrate how little you’d be interested in watching this interview, but I’ll I’m reading is a very reasonable enthusiasm for antique typewriter mechanics.
