I couldn't totally get into ULTRAPOP this year for whatever reason, but "Bad Selection" makes me want to keep trying. One album I got completely into was Indigo De Souza's Any Shape You Take, and its penultimate track is a good one. "Way Out" isn't a title track but it does sort of reference the title in the lyrics.

Glad to see Crumbelievable represented here
Album: Indigo De Souza - Any Shape You Take Song: Torres - Don't Go Putting Wishes In My Head
Each Torres album has been pretty solid but with a song or two that floors me. This is the correct SOTY.
Mannequin Pussy's last album grew on me in a big way this year, then the Perfect EP came out and hit the same spot for me.
I didn't really like it at first, other than "The Last Man On Earth" which is a monster song. Gave the whole album a few more tries and now I love it.
Listened to Ada Lea for the first time after seeing it on these lists, it's good! I'm also liking seeing Ovlov mentioned, it easily could have been on my list. Really enjoy everything I've heard from Ovlov/Stove so far.
This one in particular - thank you stereodog! https://www.stereogum.com/2144470/the-5-best-songs-of-the-week-380/lists/the-5-best-songs-of-the-week/#comment-21011619 Also I didn't know before now that Actual Life 2 exists. Today is a good day.
Big thanks to the commenters here for talking it up back when it came out, that's what prompted me to listen

Chubby and the Gang - The Mutt's Nuts I debated and asked in SUD about the Avalanches album and everyone said put it on your 2021 list, so there it is right where it belongs. HM to Flock of Dimes which I had in the next spot on the list, Aeon Station which I love the singles I've heard but won't hear the whole album until later this week, and the Mach Hommy albums which I decided to dive into only yesterday. I haven't spent a lot of time listening to rap music lately, though I might end up regretting not having Tyler the Creator on this list.
I love it and I hate it. I want it now.
Yeah it seems like there's a couple potential albums like this every other year or so. I'm optimistic about the Aeon Station album coming out next week.
Yeah I wouldn't feel right leaving it out, especially since it belongs right at the top.
Newest Avalanches album came out after last year's Listmas, though a couple people put it in their 2020 lists anyway. I didn't know I should have since I wasn't the biggest fan of Wildflower. But it's SO GOOD. It's my favorite album I've listened to in the past year. So, 2020 album or 2021 album?
Our household hate-watched the 2021 Grammys. For all the problems I might have had with the awards/show, Trevor Noah was not one of them. Though coming from me, this is like saying Taylor Swift didn't ruin the Cats movie.
I don't know if it's a joke or just a simple fact that H.E.R. is going to win a Tony and an Emmy then vanish, having fulfilled her one purpose in life.
I'm still enjoying the new Hand Habits album and picked up the CD - did anyone else get the physical version and get surprised by the alternate tracklist? I listened to it on Spotify and really liked "Gold/Rust" as a penultimate track, but it's #6 on my CD. But I do like the album ending with "Graves".
I was just last week remembering how much I don't like the band name Let's Eat Grandma and then I saw the cumgirl8 article and nah it's fine.
I thought it would be more than this
