Focus on the music and forget the rest. They are fantastic, IMO. But, also...you like what you like. Listen to whatever that is. There's probably a communal place on the interwebs where you can share that passion with like minded folks. Just spitballing ideas.
"Inside Out" alone pushes TWMS pretty high for me. But I mean, I love all of their albums. Transference is equally great. "Who Makes Your Money," "Written In Reverse," "Got Nuffin". This band has been so consistent that I was shocked to see that GCT is 20 years old. Feeling my age today.
Fore! is the better album.
5,148 point font. Totally easy on the eyes.
I really wanted to give them both a chance, but this new layout is as awkward as the bridge and chorus on this song.
Also...haven't found a place to say this, but Springsteen's "House of a Thousand Guitars" is great, but it's so simlar to "Arthur's Theme" by Christopher Cross that it's all that resonates with me every time I listen. Still a great song though.
It will be. His site has presales for everything from a "stripped down" 3 LP for like $40 to a 9 LP monstrosity that runs about $500.
Are they different versions than the ones that were put on She's The One? That would be very cool. I guess I just thought they were included because they were recorded during the Wildflowers sessions.
Looks like 4 out the 10 tracks on Disc 2 are from the She's The One OST, but I'm super excited about this nonetheless. Miss this guy's presence so much.
I dig this "especially chill iteration." This is extremely well suited for summer evening buzzed patio listening.
I tuned in late and caught "Run It." Great track. Running the album back from the beginning.
Smokin' From Shootin' is a pretty great penultimate full track. That album is certainly bookended well.
I feel like that album is a grower. I listented to it a couple times straight through when it came out and was pretty "meh" about it. Tracks have kept popping up on algorhythm playlists from it and I find myself enjoying them more. Buckle Up could have been on No Code. Weirdly warming effect.
Both I've Made Up My Mind To Give Myself To You and Key West are astoundingly gorgeous. This album is the best thing he's done since Love and Theft.
Echoing the previous comment. They did a fantastic job putting that together and using archival footage with the tribute performances. Fitting tribute.
It's totally understandable. I mean they sound about American as it gets. I think CCR needs to at least be in the discussion. And if we are okay with artists who also had solo careers then The E Street Band and The Heartbreakers have to be in the mix as well.
Every time the debate over best American bands comes up, somebody always brings up The Band, even though they were almost entirely Canadian. Never fails.
Strong list. The performance of Angel Duster with TV on the Radio on Colbert was amazing. Great song. El's verse on A Christmas Fucking Miracle is maybe the best of his career.
