Beck being nominated makes me feels old, as I remember seeing an episode of Pop Up Video in the late 90s that stated when Beck would be eligible to be in the RHOF, and it struck me at the time as being so far in the future.

In the past few years of guitars being brought back into pop, have there been any good examples of pop songs with guitar solos? Because I'm a sucker for a well placed guitar solo in the middle (or more like, the latter 3rd) of a catchy pop song.

Also this year's slate isn't as bad as some others. There's a handful of "Oh right that's a thing that came out this past year" announcements, but a lot less head scratching "Who???" type of inclusions. Though I suppose not everyone knows who Jon Batiste is.
