Wow I'm surprised to be in the minority as a big fan of rosalia, but this song isn't doing much for me. The raggaeton is getting a bit tired and while the dembow is a cool beat and all, I think she's made better songs with it (TKN, Linda, even Con Altura). The visuals are decent but it all feels a bit mid for her especially compared to the videos by CANADA. I hope there's a bit more diversity across the album because otherwise I think I'll probably be a bit split on it, although the actual track motomami sounds fire.
I don't listen to the wrens or know any of their music but the national is quite possibly the most boring successful-2000s-indie-band I can possibly think of. To this day I'm absolutely bewildered that their music produces a reaction of anything but indifference or boredom. zZzZz...
Seems like a big omission when a lot of the listed songs seem generous at best to call standards. My parents who don’t know any smashing pumpkins songs even play it from a cd lol
the only thing I would have wanted for New Shapes would be some kinda outro with a build (it's too short) but I get that pop radio likes that length. Guess I just have to loop it.
This should have been the lead single imo, this song is amazing. I've been waiting for it since she teased a snippet earlier this year in one of her online performances. All three of them kill it, the type of hook you want to shout in a car and those synth chords 😳. I was a little worried about the whole sellout era thing for a min because I wasn't as into good ones, but this sells me on it. Sick album title, single / album art. 2022 is gonna be beautiful year for interesting pop music: Crash, new Caroline Polachek album, and Motomami. Those are already going to be AOTY considerations for me.
man the year album naming scheme is sooooo tired
They're both doing field recording wrong (lol)! Constantly moving and waving the mic around is a terrible way to record and is more likely to be just a bunch of clothing movement. Also no wind protection, all you'd be hearing is low frequency rumble and distortion, not to mention handling noise. It's a quirky idea that kinda irks me as a field recordist and sound person working in film.
Actually I guess freedom's goblin isn't that long ago, but it's really been since manipulator with that exception. This one's banging so far though.
kinda haven't followed ty since freedom's goblin but whisper is thic. Also is that Josh Homme on harmonies? I swear it's his voice.
This has to a pr move for this guy, it's not that original of a flow, and saying "___ ___ america" with lines phrased into a vaguely similar rhythm is REALLY reaching. Nobody knows who this guy is lmao.
Pretty sure they split both production and vocals, Laura def produced this one though.
Even though the instrumental does sound exactly like the original, their version is a half step higher so I think it's just a really well made copy.
that would actually be really cool, especially with how clean and robotic their voices are.
whether or not the show is good, I have no idea, but I kind of appreciate how a 2021 reboot of scooby doo is going for the classic art style.
yeah Rubberjohnny was a legendary Goblin stan, everything was"__ > Goblin". I remember him from when I started commenting on the site around 2010.
unrelated to the headline but it really sounds like this freestyle was recorded in the bathroom in the video lol
Maybe you can get Rubberjohnny out of retirement to write the Goblin piece!
these are very bad but I appreciate the effort of collecting them all
