phenste! Thanks for the shout out! Grateful for your presence around this community and happy you are back! That Erika de Casier album was soooooo GOOD and SOTCW was def the big jam of the album. Can't wait to dance to that one live. Also there are too many to choose from but I'd pick "Secrets (Your Fire)" as my go to from Mercurial World just for that transition from "Dawning of the Season" alone. Happy New Year!
100%. And when celebrities say stupid shit like this it allows the GOP to successfully shift hatred towards these people who are only kinda rich, instead of where the focus should be placed onto people who are RICH rich.
But the thing that makes the culture war so effective is that it affects both sides...the dems play into it just as much as the right. Here we have a great example of this in Bette Midler literally saying that all people from West Virginia are "poor illiterate and strung out." And on top of all that, none of these people actually give a fuck about culture-war related issues. They simply serve as a tool to divide so while we are busy arguing with each other, they can continue ranking in millions from corporate lobbyists.
Honestly they should've cancelled all the sketches and just let Charli Caroline and Christine perform for 2 hours instead. Give us a gift this holiday season ok.
And honestly I bet a lot of smaller bands are thanking them for making this move and hopefully setting some sort of precedent. We are not in lockdown anymore and people are not getting unemployment. Covid unfortunately is not going anymore and at some point we need to rely on ppl to make their own risk assement when it comes to public events.
I Love You Honeybear is by farrrr one of the best second albums of ALL TIME. Top ten of the 2010's for sure. I just listened to it again after reading this post and screamed along to every word. You love to see it.
i don't really listen to hardcore, but i am also obsessed with the Turnstile album. Knowing this about me, besides suggesting i fuck off, what other albums would you reco i check out?
"When it comes to tracks, I need blood and fire. I need something that can take a musclebound man and put his face in the sand. That’s why my list is, more or less, all ragers." I laugh at this quote knowing Tom is trolling us hard by saying this and yet refusing to have Turnstile on his list. He knows how to get to us! Anywhoo, here's some songs i love this year.

Azaelia Banks- Fuck Him All Night
Another Michael- New Music
Cardi B- Up
Erika de Casier- Make My Day
Charli XCX- Good Ones
Amber Mark- Competition
W.H Lung- Pearl and The Palm

"The Distance" made an appearance on a recent episode of Insecure. An oldie, but 100000% deserves more recognition. I didn't really listen to her new album but i def need to go back and check it out more. Love her.
Well i WAS gonna say "What am i going to do without my sole Sam Hunt stan in this column?" but you didn't even acknowledge 23 in this list so whatever! Ill miss you in this column, and am excited to see what Rachel brings to the table next year!
Yeahhhh im not gonna say he's solely responsible for this either but maybe just don't sit down for this type of damage control? You're clearly just trying to save face and are giving legally approved answers to pre-planned questions. This reads like a practice deposition and it just honestly feels really icky to me.
Honestly I can get on board with this. I don't think it's possible to squeeze any MORE enjoyment out of one song. The amount of HYPE i get from listening to "Holiday" is on a very "Run Away With Me" level. Thats SAYING something.
Turnstile has been bringing me so much fucking joy lately that i nominated that over my actual AOTY (Another Michael) in hopes that i can help turn the tides and help Turnstile defeat the inevitable WOD win. LETS GO TURNSTILE!!!!
but every song is the best. i know you were less of a fan of the softer songs on the album, but the best song is a soft one! "New Music" is totally transcendent! And they are playing here next month!
Also, I been looking at so many top ten lists this year where I'm just like "huh" so it feels nice to see a list where I'm finally like "I get this." Even if y'all missed a few of my favs, its nice to see so many great albums represented here.
