What other media have you digested this week?
Captain Marvel- I liked this one and unlike most live action super hero movies it doesn't fall apart in the third act. I really want go into depths about this one but I can't because it would spoil some things, but let's just say sexism isn't the most blatantly political theme is this movie and leave it at that.
I'll be seeing it again tomorrow for a date. Let's see if it holds up on repeat viewings.
COD 4 Remastered- Never had a chance to play this one around 2007, so when it came up as one of the free PSN+ games this month I decided to give it a shot.
I got to say, it aged like shit. Shooting is rather awkward and the color palette often makes it difficult to see enemies, especially in the darker levels.
Bayonetta 2- 4 chapters in and its far better than 1. It continues what the 1st game did great, great combat mechanics, the satirical hypersexualization, etc and improves on what didn't work by having better pacing in the levels and cutting out the insta fail QTEs, and having better a stronger art style this time.
But man some moments do live up to the massive hype surrounding this game. The AC-130 level is probably one of the most chilling moments in any game I've played
Lucifer- It is far from high art, but goddamn its so fun and just hearing Tom Ellis say "Detective" is delightful.

-My terrible albums month project is going well, though Hobo Johnson, Lil Pump and Sun Kil Moon came close to breaking me.
-I also got pretty drunk at Dropkick Murphys concert and there may be a video of me singing "Shipping Up to Boston" somewhere.
-Robyn was fucking magical live.

I used to be mixed on Tame Impala. I love Currents to the point I would argue its one of the best rock albums ever made, Innerspeak I liked well enough but Lonerism I never really cared for.
But then I saw them live at Panorama Fest. It was magical and at the mid point it even got more magical thanks to that one guy I met who let me take a hit from his blunt.
What I'm getting at is that even their worst songs are amazing in live performances.

so what has everyone been listening to?
-I'm currently doing a "Terrible Albums Month" where I just listen to reviled albums, EPS, or mixtapes I've never listened to before once every day until the last day of the month. Why am I doing this? Several reasons, like it helps me appreciate the gems more.
First up is the Celeste and Daphne debut We Didn't Say That. I thought their recent album was one of the best pop albums in a while but their debut is so awful its actually fun.

I feel no guilt for listening to MJ's music because it was like 7 years after he died that I got into it. He ain't profiting from it, so I ain't losing sleep. Same goes for Bowie.
If he was alive though, I would go out of my way to make sure I didn't hear anything by him. Like with 6ix9ine.

Like I tend to be pretty forgiving towards people for the sins they committed when they were underage if they put the effort into atoning, but rape or even attempted rape? What media have you digested this week?
Assassin's Creed Odyssey- I've been making my character the thirstiest in Greece. Whether it be fucking a client, a clients real father, another client but this time because her husband is too tired and he pays in her stead, or a bisexual twink as part of a foursome.
Hitman 2- It's basically Hitman 2016 1.5 which I'm fine with. Stealth games are pretty rare these days aside, so it doesn't feel tedious.
I do have to say I had too much fun with the last level. So many climate change denying characters, so little time
Black Mirror Bandersnatch- Watched in on NYE with some friends. I wasn't particularly impressed by this one. The choice mechanic is a neat feature, but when the stuff in between is so boring, it barely makes a difference.
Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse- Second time seeing it, and it still kicks ass. Its a damn good argument of why superhero movies should start getting animated and even if I hated the writing, the visuals/directing/animation is stunning. It made the spider bite interesting again.
Up next: -my third time seeing Noname perform. Will be drunk this time but still be the second best live rapper I've seen? The answer...... probably yes.
-Rectify- I finished season 1 back when it aired and tried to get back into for the last year or so. With classes coming back soon, I might as well continue and finish it.
