Damn sooner or later the gench really comes for us all. That concept art of the new location is so depressing. Powerfully uncool person's idea of a cool building.
Jason Lee's just skateboarding in Denton, TX these days, last I heard. I think that man can exist just happily outside Hollywood. North Texas welcomes people like that.
That video of Neil and Ben with his trains is just the sweetest thing. Obviously would never claim to know the dynamics of any famous person's family, but it really looks like there's a lot of love there.
What a lot of people missed is that the "boos" were mostly because everyone thought there were more artists on deck. (Rocky and Uzi had already come out and done mini-sets and Tyler had said he was just going to bring out guests all night). Drake asked if he should keep going a lot of people said "no," essentially saying "okay that was fun, next!" I didn't hear boos *during* the songs he was performing. It's still absolutely insane that one of the biggest artists in the world was effectively told to wrap it up, though.
As someone who was also there, this is right on the money. I think it's hard for all these people trying to analyze the crowd's mindset, or any crowd for that matter, unless you were in the middle of it.
Maybe I need to spend more time with WHEAD? but I think I'd rather listen to Timebends three times on repeat than listen to the album once. Not to say the album was awful, but this song really is the weird shit I love them for.
For someone who hates social media so much, she is one of the few people who actually seems to be good at it?? I just want to know how her day is going. Did she enjoy her lunch??
He absolutely knocks it out of the park. He always played a man who can't control his emotions, which can be very funny, but PTA found a way to make that deeply sad and affecting. And somehow still very funny.
T is approaching the god tier of artists who direct their own videos. He's already mastered the goofy and cartoonish and now he's even knocked the prestige costume drama look out of the park. This thing looks almost Kubrickian.
It's not terribly hard to clown on the guy, but every single ounce of "maybe Kid Cudi wasn't that great to begin with" absolutely evaporated out of my body when I saw him close the Kids See Ghosts set at Flog Gnaw last year with "Pursuit of Happiness." It was wild and kind of powerful to see thousands and thousands of people sharing an incredible moment of connection. Not to get too bong-rippy about it, of course.
There's also a scene in Ella Enchanted where Anne Hathaway sings "Somebody to Love," and it has certainly stood the test of time in my memory more than however the song was used in Bohemian Rhapsody, which I truly can't even remember.
How are the performances? Ashton Sanders was great in Moonlight, but the images from the show made it seem like I'll have to suspend disbelief to buy him as RZA.
Danny season approaching! Fuck whatever y'all been hearing! Now just have to decide if I should go back home to Texas and see him there or catch him at the Regent. Truly can't wait.
This hits the mark more than my comment did. Feel a little bad about calling this guy, who is probably very ill and suffering himself, "scum." I think I assumed that a dealer would give their rich famous client fentanyl because it's cheaper and the dealer thinks the client is too dumb to know the difference. I know there's often much more to it than that.
Absolutely tragic. What complete scum. Hope he's brought to justice but also that this doesn't drag out and keep those who are still healing from finding peace. So very many people loved this man.
I became a hater around the time he started talking about how hip-hop was a bad genre for emotional expression, but then "Psycho" and "Sunflower" wound up two of my favorite tracks of last year. Ultimately, I dig the guy.
Also, I'm reminded of coke's very solid Posty Halloween costume from last year. I propose a Matty Healy costume this year, with as much time as you spend defending these two goofballs.
I was under the impression that we surrendered the quest for authenticity when we discovered Rick Ross used to work in law enforcement and decided his drug raps still slapped anyway.
My first and only real day spent in Long Beach I was down there picking up a friend coming back on the Catalina ferry. The most interesting things we found to do were get Vietnamese at Uncle Fungs and go to Fingerprints Music and then we called it a day. (We went and stood in the parking lot and looked at the Queen Mary – for Arrested Development and Wolf Parade-related nostalgia – but that's about it.)
