I wasn't feeling this for the first minute or so. But then it really finds it's footing and is a nice treatment of a pretty untouchable love song. Kudos
I wanna make sure I got this right
You made a Stereogum to defend Joe Rogan and his covid treatment methodology and to trash Neil Young? Am I reading that right? Please note I'm not even remotely hinting at how I feel about what I'm perceiving as your choices. I just want to make 100% sure I'm reading it all correctly.
Thanks in response for your clarification
I'm gonna have to hire more muscle to help me steal the lunch money from these emo dweebs. I'm gonna have to run a gott damn cost analysis. See if it pencils out. I mean I'll likely do it anyway. Cuz emo dweebs
Clutch Stereogum move: Say something that will likely garner upvotes early in a big thread. Wait for about 5 comments to drop below you. Drop a HARD TROLL. But guess what, sucker?!?! You can't take back that upvote!!!! And no matter how many downvotes you give my troll my firsty firsty is untouched by man or god.
Taylor and her relentless Squad of fans are going to absolutely destroy Albarn for this. His reputation and career will likely end up in tatters because of it. Join me in standing for the victim.
"Well, you know Gloria. She's impetuous. We had to give her a Sweet 16 on her 13th birthday"

It's basically the cinematic version of our guy Pads
I'd like to think when I end up in the bottom 5 it's because folks get my shtick and are all "Bloc, you card. Here's a downvote you silly bastard." And I also like to think when YBB ends up there peeps are more "God I hate this putz"
These are two of my favorite things.
Really enjoy listening to this. It's cool to connect the voices with the literary persona of the gang. Like who amongst us expected the esteemed Mr. Deville to have a thick Russian accent?
But that’s not even what I’m getting at! The kind of indie pop the esteemed Mr Deviile talks about in that article is still pop indebted to current pop trends. And I guess that’s what angers me. Indie Pop already existed. It was a subgenre of indie in the 90’s/00’s that was indebted to classic pop of the late 50’s early 60’s. Bands that crafted songs with a HARD NOD to the original idea of what “pop music” was. The idea that a subgenre that already existed can be dismissed and that term co-opted by modern bands using current pop sounds is offensive to me.
