I loved that in a time where cds were just going away beck made his a fun enough event to want to always buy them. I still have all the stickers and dvd and my ghetto art book by marcel dzama who is pretty big now.
Ahh missed the nails post. Hey they were all in this cake band called wounded cougar also
Jmj has chops man. Didn't he tour with tool Or some metal Band or Something ?
I get it you’re a fan I like em also...but this dumb as fuck and needs to be trumpeted as so
For real there are Some funny ass Comments On this article. Also let’s make with corn images again man . You missed an oppurtunity With that last st. Vincent track.
Nooo! I love the extra graphics .
Damn I never knew how Ignorant I was . I will never look at grimus the same way
Haha early rona switch was impossible to get I still have my Older brothers. And when he tries to get it back I’m going to give him the quavo treatment
No I agree. And believe me I hate sounding like an old man knocking the new stuff but it is completely different vibe. The only thing the same is the name bonnaroo.
06 was sick though. In was at that rail for Radiohead and beck
Shaky knees ain’t bad at times
Agreed. I feel like no one earns the headline anymore it’s just who ever is popular. This is very mainstream. I guess the difference to me is that it’s more of a photo op now than a concert. I remember going in 2006 and I remember 2011 being more enjoyable but man the place went from grass to sand it was just getting way more marketed. I stopped after that. I honestly think I stopped on a high note.
Dude that show was amazing when the glowing things dropped from the hang gliders in the sky. Best one ever Buffalo Springfield crushed it and for the record that Thursday was epic walkmen introducing Lisbon songs before deerhunter took the stage to play in their prime.
My god I was there n 2011. Check out that line up compared to this shite
I want to see the wish.com version of these shoes
Have these motherfuckers ever worn nikes? Filling an air bubble with human blood and ink is not a good idea
When I was a kid I found a ten years after album at a thrift store. I live some of there songs but I wish some times they would not English it up so much. Take a song like over the hill. It’s starts out with great acoustic changes and kind of an diary vibe but then gets these punchy horns along with kind of cheesey optimism then back to the original. I still like them though. Check out patto self titled album it rules and there is a vibraphone in the mix
It’s a collaborative piece now
Not new music but new to me. Lisa germanos geek the girls is an interesting album. Phantom love is a cool instrumental. Second Pfizer shot felt like a level 2 hangover. My dog took a shit on a painting I made for an art show.
Been a solid week for me despite being in the worse shape of my life due to an injury. Got to say after getting back into heavy catalogue of 4ad Tom try and make my dream covers comp I realized Belly is just a solid band . When I think about star originally being the follow up to pod it makes me wonder what the breeders would have been like if Tanya Donnelly had stayed in. So I would love to hear the entire belly album start covered by the breeders ( my favorite band). It was mentioned on hear that few people if any can cover the breeders but I like almost all of there covers of other peoples bands even the James gang cover for the mod squad soundtrack ( original is better of course). Oh well everyone have an awesome weekend.
We talking about Scrooge mcduck duck tales? Or am I so disconnected from the world I don’t know about a new show with the same name?
Lol “ how does one review passion?” I don’t agave fuck about Travis scott but this was a pretty damn funny write up. Stereogum need to branch out and make it’s own liquor Scottch?
Even j. Mascis has a hard time covering the breeders.
Man I am the absolute 4ad fan and I feel like this was missed opportunity for some deep cuts and also to showcase certain strengths. Tune yards should have done a belly track. And honestly as a person who’s favorite band is the breeders I would have lived if they did a bad ass deerhunter song like lake somerset or something. The catalogue for this label is a deep deep well of amazing stuff. Incant wait to hear Bradford cover mountain battles. I really hope he completely changes it
Yeah buts it’s all Music from Other bands
I may not be as old As Some of you but I definitely am old enough to have dessert storm trading cards. I’m glad I don’t really know this stuff
It’s was right in front of us the entire time.
Just talking about him and beck and this feels like the universe responding. The album will be good give it time
I like bridges and I even like the skeleton suit shtick I have a hard time believing it all come down to just the music because there is so much good stuff that in ways similar that just doesn’t break through. I’ve mentioned ageism before on here sticking up for beck and I would even throw Bradford Cox into this category I think people look for a relatable image sometimes before they give the music a chance and I think there is a more successful Image than others. I’m not saying these are facts or anything I’m just thinking while I type. I like it all either way
Cover reminds me of bauhaus
I get my second one next weekend. I can’t wait to get back to concerts and art shows
Historian is awesome. I truly do sadly feel like it all comes down to the image. When I think about certain musicians that are pouring over with talent I can’t help but think if they looked different they would have a instant level up. Like if an artist like mitski was a white blonde girl I feel like she would run the charts. Iunno punisher is good but I was honestly shocked at how much people hyped that album.
