Did the bit about the 2015 video where he says "if i stayed i would have killed her" re: an ex ever make headlines? I had never heard of it until now and it's totally horrifying. Fuck this dude. Hope he stays sober for the sake of himself and everyone around him but otherwise it's time to fuck off out of the public eye forever.
i guess i dont now for sure but i feel like a 5'7" 7 year old would have like an actual medical diagnosis for pituitary problems.
feeling very lonely as someone who thought folklore was a triumph of marketing over songwriting.
definitely nothing in the last five years at least, everything after 1989 is drivel imo
having never heard either exposing me or whoopty before this article im gonna go ahead and say there's about a 0% chance cj - or the producer, or literally anyone else in his orbit - was unaware of exposing me. i dont care about "ownership" in this case really but the beats are so similar and it really stretches credulity to believe it's not intentional
i think i just have a constitutional aversion to mendes and his ilk: mayer, coldplay, sheeran etc. cant stand any of it. cant stand that 24kgolden x dababy song, i'm horrified by each new thing i learn about tiktok stars the "damelios" , and i think billboard is gonna have to change the methodology for the holiday season in the next couple years. i know the uk does weird xmas #1 stuff but i think the industry will start to get pissed off if #1&#2 for 7 weeks a year are mariah and brenda lee.
first project of his that i loved, huge level up for him in my eyes
yeah i dont agree with this assessment at all, starting with you including the deluxe tracks haha. i think the proper album is pretty distinct track to track even with it all meshing together, hard for me to think of lo mein and red bone and secure the bag as the same song for example
oh im sure he's a magnet IRL, but it doesn't translate to wax for me
anyways convinced me nudy is a legit good rapper as opposed to a pretty good vehicle for pierre beats
I'm torn on what happened to eternal atake this year, feels like it was robbed of some impact by covid hitting at roughly the same time, but also it was pretty apparent right away that it wasn't really a crowd pleasing pop album but something way weirder and more interesting.
i think what's really impressive about baby's 2020 is that he dominated so thoroughly and became the center of rap's solar system but he also is like, not interesting or charismatic at all lol. some great singles but the project as a whole...meh
lol you're not kidding about those video sound effects
You know, the band hasn't really done themselves many favors since they came back, lol
lizard people conspiracies predate q by decades, i wouldnt read much into it
yeah i was gonna say that would be an apt description of travis scott too lol
I think that LIVE DRUGS album is incredible. That cut of "Strangest Thing" is amazing.
I think I like it more than a lot of people because I had a garage gym so I never stopped listening to it when I worked out
didnt listen to much new stuff this year honestly. what i did love: Lil Uzi Vert - Eternal Atake Dogleg - Melee Hum - Inlet Jessie Ware - Spotlight Jeff Rosenstock - No Dream Lady Gaga - Chromatica Caribou - Suddenly Waxahatchee - Saint Cloud
no dogleg OR uzi?????
astonishingly bad hair dye choice
Everyone's mad about the weeknd and fiona but i really think shutting my turn out of the rap AOTY category is fucking crazy and the biggest snub. i dont even like the album that much but it's absurd to not be in contention there, it's literally the year's biggest release and served as a coronation for a new superstar. ridiculous to not even get a nod.
so many of these are literally real which makes the whole thing even better. i laughed for like an hour straight when i saw this the other night
I'm kinda bewildered by the whole thing. Gucci said he smoked Pookie's ashes to his face! Jeezy tried to be the bigger man but idk how that works if you sent the guys to kill gucci in the first place
said "oh no oh no oh no" out loud when "dont rock me to sleep" started
pic #6 in this post - no plastic on the inside is visible to me https://www.instagram.com/p/CF3ibTHH_Zx/?utm_source=ig_embed
ok does literally anyone believe her claim about the mask though
these comments make a lot more sense when you remember how much j cole and chance were on his playlists.
1989 is not a primarily antonoff work, he only did a few songs. Lovers...fine? I listened to it once thought it was nice and then never felt like listening to it again. Ditto folklore, which was also, as noted in this article, heavily dessner. Melodrama is basically the only thing he’s helmed that I think is an unqualified triumph.
"Maybe someday we’ll get a Bruce album produced by Antonoff." based on his track record of album length collabs...i think i'll pass
yes, an 8 year old b-side is "trendy"
money trees is really made by jay rock imo
Thought this was pretty good! First few songs were really engaging but it sagged in the middle before picking up again with rockstar chains. uzi seems a more natual partner for future than almost any of his other collaborators
ah man i would have bet more money on a breathe carolina collab happening first
please god give me a release date and the 35 minute single
yeah but how many times has biz markie or me first and the gimme gimmes shown up in the bonus beats
focus is an interesting choice of the singles from between pop 2 and charli, i prob would personally have chosen no angel from that run.
I get the sense she doesn't really like any of the pre-PC music stuff, she also hates 'break the rules' which i think is so good lol
