Damn. Elton is the anti-Clapton. Nice. Glen Campbell! That’s so cool. Watch the doc on him if you get a chance. It’s so sad, but made me really appreciate the guy for the legend he was.
Goddammit! I thought Krug was doing Nightswimming. That would be something.
No, no, no. Stereodumb feels strongly about Wilco. Wilcoisokay, obviously, does not.
On one tour (2010?), they would open with Wilco(The Song) and do this little break in the middle where they introduced each band member with a spotlight and a weird little robotic voice. We saw them do that in Savannah, GA on that tour. After the show, we met John Stiratt and he said they thought that was the longest Wilco show ever! We also met Gregg Allman. He pulled up in this tricked-out Mustang to say hi to the band in their bus.
Does anyone own the rights to emojis? Serious question.
The Louisville show is going to be my daughter's first fully "adult" concert. She's been to Kidz Bop (my wife is a saint for taking her to that) and Taylor Swift. With Swift, the audience was a good percentage little girls around her age, so that's why I say "adult". She's so excited, I love it.
Automatic for the People is probably in my top-5 favorite albums of all time. For some reason, I'd tend to skip Drive when I listened to it. Recently, I heard it and thought damn, this is great. Why had I always been down on it?
It's just Ed doing karaoke. I am surprised at how much I like the other Vedder songs on this soundtrack.
Man, that Yanya album is such great shit. She's got to be due for a new one soon, right?
I felt this way IN 'Nam, man! Oh, you think you can feel this way, too? Well, you can't! You weren't there, MAN!
The best part of this is the people in the room slowly realizing what Norm is doing.
I've been drinking up on the sweet tea! It was MADE just for ME! I love sweet tea and I love that line.
A couple months ago, I had my local NPR station on, and they were playing one of Adams' songs. I was pretty surprised they'd still play him. I thought maybe it just slipped through or something, but now I've heard his songs on there a few more times recently. Weird to me since you'd think a NPR station would be more aware of all of the stuff going on with him.
Apparently, the only thing that does matter is covers of "Nothing Else Matters".
The lady playing the tuba on the beach was robbed!
It's like a combo of one of those weirdly-aggressive right-wing t-shirts with all the fonts and an old person's facebook post where they capitalize every word for some unknown reason.
Closeup of Elisabeth Moss' face as she stares intently into the camera. Right as we hear the line "and nothing else matters", a single tear drops from her left eye. Hard cut to black. Roll credits.
Whoa. The anchor/daughter of the venue CEO acting like she's doing some hardcore journalism while she's really just sticking up for dad's business is some seriously shady shit. Glad she got called out for it. I'm hoping she faced some sort of reprimand from her station management.
Red Hot Chili Peppers are kicking themselves for not coming up with it first.
"Mary" is slow, but it's intense.
Five articles every day. Five articles total wouldn't be very much.
What's up with all the covers lately? Doesn't it seem like there are like five articles on here about 'X covers Y'? Not complaining, I just noticed that there have been a ton in the last couple months.
I was into music before 2001, but that was the year I got INTO music. So, of course, I was listening to this a ton. Some friends and I drove to St. Louis the night before Thanksgiving in 2001 to see them at Mississippi Nights. Before the show, we were walking by a bar nearby and saw Nikolai, Fab and Nick in there playing Golden Tee golf with St. Louis concert regular Beatle Bob. We got their autographs and they were really nice. Then later at the show we danced with Beatle Bob in the front row.
How fucking exciting is AEW right now!!?!!?? The fact that they seem to be firing on all cylinders combined with the hot crowds combined with Danielson and Punk possibly showing up soon has me really excited to watch every week.
They also didn’t reschedule their Louisville show.
Am I the only one who read the headline and thought, "Well, R Kelly won't be interested in her anymore."?
My favorite part in the Bee Gee's doc is when they talk about Barry doing the high voice for the first time in the studio, and they're just like, "Yeah. Do that all the time now."
I sawr her smash a gee-tar on my teevee.
I think the charges would have been dropped. How can you expect someone to be around James Corden and NOT be on drugs?
Speaking of very-American Canadian acts, The Band should be included.
I'm really hoping for a vinyl reissue of Hi-Fi soon. It's one of my favorites.
I'm actually with you on the Dead. Metallica, I honestly haven't heard enough to say. Pearl Jam, I am a huge fan of. I really think their run from Vs. to Binaural is almost flawless. I just think they're on autopilot now, and have been since about Riot Act. I had high hopes for their last album after the first single, but it was disappointing to me. There is no band I'm rooting for more than Pearl Jam to surprise me with their next album. All that said, I will still snatch up tickets any time they come near me. They are such an amazing live band.
Alright, where do you all put R.E.M. in the pantheon of great American bands? Personally, they're number one for me.
