she's wrote a letter to apologize to Zayn too after the comment she made about him. she's actually done it a lot too but those never get covered... https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/read-azealia-banks-emotional-apology-letter-to-zayn-malik-w446141/
naming names is obviously the ideal, but I don’t think it’s that simple or easy. Haim would put themselves at risk and ruin potential future relationships with festivals & promoters (almost all of which are run by men) and then they don’t get booked because they have the reputation of being a “whiny feminist social justice whatever”. Haim has been performing and visiting festivals long enough to know how festival pay works and i doubt they’d bring this up if they knew the male artist was more popular than they are.
It's moments like these when I realize how much I love Beyoncé. I was having a shitty week and I almost didn't stay up for this performance (she went on at 2AM where I'm from), but as soon as I heard that intro to the Wiz and saw that Nefertiti crown my energy was transformed. Thank you for being consistently excellent and for pushing yourself with every opportunity. Thank you for celebrating blackness on a platform this large and in such a meaningful way. And thank you for letting Jay only do one verse.
**shameless plug of Beyoncé signees Chloe x Halle debut album. They sound like Janelle Monae's younger sisters and I'm pretty psyched for what they have in store for us moving forward.
