Yeah, fuck, like with Quick Escape, a song like that make me hope they still have the potential to have a great album. Best solo Vedder Tune in a while.
I have the Droog/Fahim high on my list, nothing new under the sun but a great listen front to back, super solid. Also enjoyed with the Navy Blue a lot.
I'm curious what you would put ahead of that, besides Dance of the Clairvoyants, I like a few tracks but none reach these heights, and most are so generic. Seven O'clock would have been a serious contender but that chorus and bridge are so painful. Quick escape has that classic PJ vibe and I've no issues with the lyrics.
yeah I don't know what the kids say, but, as an absolute PJ fan on first listen I would agree with that term. Really imagined him going in a Neil Young direction as he gets older instead of that FM sounding crap.
Tha YOD is a contender for my favorite albums this year. Too bad it went a bit under the radar, it's classic but such a great and entertaining listen from top to bottom, pretty rare these day for a rap album.
Where are the riffs though? Besides maybe Peace and Tranquility (and it's not that original), I'm having a hard time finding a memorable riffs. Lots of these songs seem to go nowhere, and, despite my utter love for Hinds as a guitar player, feels like he just comes in to save the day. While I enjoy listening to him shred, it's not hiding the lack of good songwriting.
Lol you are so disingenuous. And 2 somehow the site logs me back to an account I created ages ago and stopped using if I don’t pay attention. So effin what? You think I don’t own up to my answers on your idiotic comments ?
I actually always loved the Hunter. Sun I felt they were repeating themselves for the first time. Emperor is a solid album but I’m tired of Bran vocals and this track just uses that trick all over again. Any times Hinds drives the wheel they are better, more inspired, more haunted, I wish they would just let him do this for a full album again.
yeah he deleted that on IG, not the first time he does something stupid, but that's different from his artistic choicess. And since Tom can't seem to understand, let Conway explain it

And Slash was in his prime ripping through every solo. Also of we are really comparing GNR and Kanye (really?!), I don’t miss the old Axl, turned out a better person than the new Kanye.
Really there’s not a single memorable song. His rapping has gone to the gutter. There’s no sound or production idea he had not done before. The entire things is impossible to listen without losing attention. This thing is mediocre at best.
Kanye can’t write or rap a decent lyric anymore. He ruined the few songs I appreciated. His best rap here is on the laziest beat/Lauren Hill sample. Pablo best tracks destroy anything on this album.
Not that WSG stands the comparison with Warhol as a visual artist, but the way he subverts historical and pop figures or classic paintings for his covers and merch, is a take on pop art. Warhol painted Hitler too.
Very dumb. It's a bit political business as usual (conservatives using their reluctance to legalize to get votes), but even part of the left is very skittish. On paper, you can pretty much smoke without consequences unless you find yourself at the wrong spot, and still, you can be ok (he had 30g with him and just got a fine). However, you can also do time. I'm not sure how frequent it is these days, but we have a lot of people incarcerated for minor weed possession or selling.
Yeah, we have a racism problem in our police and French cops random ID checks are disproportionately targeting people of color, but here they were blazing in the car broad daylight. We are unfortunately still not anywhere close to legalization, so you are going to get controlled for that.
