Yeah I did. I know it was bad. I’m glad he’s in a better spot now. I also hope people will start seeing Pure Comedy as the stone cold classic it is. One of my favorite records of all time.

Thom is at a point now where his discography outside of Radiohead is starting to get really deep. What a wonderful artist this guy is. Doesn’t take his unlikely fame for granted and keeps himself invested. Even if you don’t care for his music (big dummy, my dear pal blochead) you have to give the dude credit for embodying many of the things we love and respect about music. Also, think about if TKOL was considered Thom solo? I’d venture a guess that the word “masterpiece” would be bandied about more often. Context and expectation is fascinating.

I wish the message was “Of course I support equal rights for everyone.” Why would any reasonable person need to be reminded of that? We need to hold ourselves to a standard where individuals rights to pursue happiness is a given. That we don’t need to give out metals for common decency. It would be fantastic to live in a world where all this was a given. Maybe if we start expecting this of others, we stand a better chance of getting there.

The first song is tedious af. Sounds like if a computer spit out a Drake song. I like him much better when he’s stealing hype ideas from other people. Straight forward Drake, Draking on some seriousness is hella boring, son.

I’m having a bit of a dark period. I even listened to Salem today. Those two things are not related as I listen to Salem every day. Truth is, I had a story I nearly shared. But what’s the point?

Fuuuuuck. Sam Shepard. Though it would’ve been cool to get Elliot too. Ramblin’ Jack Elliot also appears.

Obviously a great record. If you haven’t checked out Scorsese's Rolling Thunder Review movie yet, get on it. At one point Dylan gets Sam Elliot to sign on even if no one has a clue what for. Bob was a straight baller back then.

I just ignore cancel culture atp. I feel like I’m able to judge each person on their merit even if that person may have said something I think is fucking stupid. What if every crusader had to answer for every stupid thing they’ve ever said? Are you more righteous simply because your public profile is visible? If that’s not the case then anyone who has said anything remotely offensive should not be able to criticize and should be canceled as well. If you are perfect, go right ahead.

Agreed. Part of the issue we’ve had as a society is that these medicines have been attached to a subculture people have little respect for. But this attachment is simply the result of those individuals getting a hold of it first. My friend just lost his mother and is looking for an experienced guide. He’s an investment banker and a father. He’s also taken psychedelics in the past but wants to try them in a therapeutic setting. Hell, I want to try them in therapeutic setting and I’ve had life changing experiences with them many times in the past. The fact that he’s running into so many roadblocks is ridiculous. We’re all sitting around with this societal anxiety over death and our place in the universe and a tool to uncover the answers is in our reach. Why should the government get to decide how we grapple with this challenge? It actually makes me angry. We are potentially on the precipice of a massive breakthrough in our understanding of consciousness and our leaders want to put us in cages for asking these questions.

I mean, it’s Bill Callahan. I’d be surprised if it were anything but brilliant. This album is especially brilliant, just like the others. Apocalypse is still my favorite, but that may just be the nostalgia I attach to it.

Still no band quite like SR. That alone has my highest respect. Separate topic: I just read: How to Change Your Mind by Michael Pollan. It is possibly one of the most important books in recent memory. Everyone should read it immediately.

She’s one of those people who has always been famous. It fucks with your brain. She should take some time to have experiences and stop worrying about manufacturing an identity because, truth is, being invested in the stuff you are presently interested in requires you to actually experience those things. Put in the work. Listen and stop talking for a moment.

As much as I hate to suggest this, maybe create a section for people who want to do this kind of thing. I really dislike having to do this, but it’s worst to have frustration result in violence. We’d all like an optimal work environment, but consider the fact that almost no one has this luxury.

This album knocked me out and I’ve always been a fan. I’m pretty sure a substantial number of complainers about the mix either 1: Have some kind of gripe about any metal band that can, you know, write songs (if Baroness can even be called metal at this point) or just know this is the thing to say when Dave F is involved with a project. No matter, more for me.
