I know we’ve established the rules of howseing actually allow for listening to singles, but I’m going to have to incorrectly howse this bad boy and I’ll see you in February when the whole thing drops. Bonus points because Beach House.
I’ve been thinking about this. The Melbourne leg of that Big Day Out was my first festival experience and you could see that everyone was doing what they could to make it a safe experience. They were giving out free water, sunscreen, and everyone just seemed really conscious of how quickly things could spiral out of control. The following year though, all that was gone.
Yeah, totally. I think it was the key for me. After that clicked the rest of the album just seemed to fall into place, but damn if I don’t listen to Harmonia’s dream about three times each listen of the album. They’ve delivered the goods again.
I got a negative result which is good so back to work on Monday. Yeah, this week has been really disheartening with those case numbers, but until this week I’d had no real exposure to it, even though I’ve been working through the entire pandemic with dozens of people.
Fingers crossed this is the last weekend in lockdown and next week I can actually see people who I don’t work with. Had to get tested yesterday because someone at work tested positive, and the nearest testing site was an hour walk away so I spent the whole walk listening to the Field so this weekend is going to be an electronic weekend. Any recommendations?
Things are going to get interesting at the 24 hour mark when a terrorist organisation threaten to delay the new WOD album indefinitely and it’s up to one man to bring them down. Kiefer Sutherland stars as Beans.
The print room tech at uni was a huge Fugazi fan and used to blast it in his office after school. He’d invite students in for beers and you’d be listening to Fugazi and Neurosis. It was awesome.
Nation of Language- Across That Fine Line. I’m late to them but I’ve had this song stuck on repeat for a few days now.
I need to reset my brain every now and then when music isn’t connecting for me, so I’m just listening to old favourites, which means lots of You Am I, early Dandy Warhol’s and lots and lots of shoegaze.
This has been an extremely shitty week for me and I’m struggling to even find music that can lift my mood. Someone played the new WOD song* (Howse failed) and that didn’t even do anything.
*why is it that all anyone plays at work is the same three fucking Dua Lipa songs and what I can only describe as Christian Gym compilations and I still end up hearing the new War on Drugs songs?
Saw the headline and thought “I wonder what Eve 6 guy thinks about this.” Dude doesn’t disappoint... except in his music presumably. I don’t know who the fuck Eve 6 are.
I suppose my larger issue is that we still get that vile shit around here. Although a lot less than other places. I love seeing hot takes and I love seeing people dying on that hill. I don’t know what my point is exactly. Nirvana aren’t very good. Celebrity Skin is better than Live Through This. I don’t understand the appeal of Fleet Foxes.
